Vegeta's father, King Vegeta, became ruler of the Saiyans by being the most powerful of their entire race. He was a strong ruler, and arrogant and aristocratic like his son. He ran into trouble when he tried to save the Saiyan race from Frieza, who he had realized was going to be their downfall. This realization came to late, as when he challenged Frieza, the warlord was much more powerful than he and killed him in a single blow. |
