How Hypnotherapy is Used to Facilitate Weight Loss

Hypnosis is used to facilitate an individuals concentration and focus. Hypnosis is really a state of increased mental alertness. During a hypnotherapy session, relaxation and guided imagery are used help suggestions for health and positive behaviors reach the subconscious mind. Once the hypnotic state is reached the subconscious mind accepts and understands positive information literally. The power of the mind is used to easily and effortlessly achieve positive change.

Changes in an individual are achieved by three main communication styles:

  1. Direct Suggestion - The client is given suggestions while in hypnosis. The suggestions relate to positive, goal oriented behaviors and/or actions.

  2. End Result Imagery - An individual is guided to see the results of their wishes as if they have already occurred. What the mind believes the body tends to achieve.

  3. Metaphors - This type of therapy is a type of therapeutic story or tale. Metaphors in story form deliver therapeutic communication on a number of different levels, allowing the therapy to reach the subconscious mind easily and effortlessly.

The four sessions explained:

Session 1: Belief Systems

Belief affect our behaviors which in turn affect our results. We all have beliefs which do not support our goals. Hypnosis works on replacing limiting beliefs about food with better ones, beliefs which provide reinforcement and support your dreams.

Session 2: Foods and Health

This program is not a diet. You will find out why you should never diet again! This program reinforces healthy eating choices through the subconscious mind. There is no calorie counting, pills, side effects, or starvation. Through hypnotherapy your mind will tell you when your body is properly nourished and through subconscious cues you will stop eating when your body is satiated.

Session 3: Exercise

Now we start to change limiting beliefs and thoughts into positive behaviors and actions. You have heard that an object in motion tends to stay in motion, right! To become healthy you must incorporate some body movement; movement that is easy and fun for you will help you shed unwanted weight. You won't be forcing yourself to do anything, your body will want to get moving because the mind wants it to, because you want it to. Start that movement to a new energized life, and let's get moving.

Session 4: Review and Self-Hypnosis

Remember that "whatever you think you can, or cannot, you are right". The steps and actions that you have made up till now will last a lifetime. The best way to make the results permanent is to practice self-hypnosis.
