Firs little of history of band(from
where are you, when were you formed, discography so we can promote you here....):
Civil Carnage is a metal act from Nova Scotia Canada. We truly began in about 1994, and
are fairly young as far as bands go. However, we were recognized for our potential I
guess. We started playing at schools and
the like, and then began playing at a local club called Cafe Ole. (now relocated as the
"Pavilion") On one of the nights we played there, a record producer by the name
of Raland Kinley saw us, and was impressed.
He signed us, and henceforth came our debut CD, "Abomination in the House of
God."
1.Who are the band members:Civil Carnage consists of Caley Zawadski- drums, Kieth Connell- vocals, Chris MacInnis- bass, and myself, Pat Storer on guitars.
2.How did you got the name:It was a collective effort to get the name. We looked through dictionaries, and found nothing. We watched A&E and found nothing. It came to Civil Carnage when drummer Caley Zawadski had it suddenly pop into his head. He blurted it out over the phone to me, and we kept it.
3.What is the music stile that you playing and compare it to some similar groups:I'd call ourselves very metal. However, I know not what specific type I'd call it. It's a mixture of power, death, speed, punk, rock&roll, etc. It's really up to the beholder.
4.Some of your favorite groups:I'm into all sorts of shit. I love Suffocation, Dichotic, Death, Pantera; all your classic raunchies, I'm into jazz, classical,(particularly Vivaldi) I like music, man.
5.Your biggest success:Biggest success? I'd say that it was when we landed Raland and he signed us.
6.Best concert that you plaid on: The very best would have to be "metalfest" at the Cafe Ole. Funly enough, this was the very show where Raland noticed us.
7.Plans for the future:Well, unfortunately, Civil Carnage is no more. We broke up due to changing interests. However, I stuck with the metal scene, and am now working with some other musicians, forming a band not yet named. Were focussing on making the music tuneful, yet aggressive and beefy. It's sort of technical, and emotional at the same time. Simply, I'm trying to vent my true thoughts and feelings through the music I write.
8.Your opinion about metal underground scene in you country:I think that it's rather unfortunate that metal never gets a lot of recognition. However, I agree that it isn't for everyone, and I've seen an entire world of amazing talent in my own backyard. The metal scene may be underground, but it's fighting it's way to the surface with aggression and pride.
9.Your massage to people here who listen metal and core:You're all hardcore. I'm glad that there are people who can get into this shit. Personally it's my whole world, and I want to share it with whoever wants to listen. METAL!!!
