Charter
1) We want to be a small group of people dedicated to helping each other.
2) We want also to provide support and comfort for those in need, like giving counsel or food or helping for dangerous corpse recoveries.
3) We want to live our time in Norrath, not only seeking the power but also sharing the stories, the experiences and developing our skills.
4) We want to share our experiences and acquired wisdom with new players so they can grow in a warm environment and feel the guild as their Norrathian family.
5) We want to play together and enjoy our time on Norrath.
6) We want to discover the world and share our knowledge of it.
7) Most of all we want to have FUN.
Basically thats how we envision us. To be more precise, about it:
- We do not want Kill Stealers or Stealers in our Guild.
- We will not tolerate the intentional training of others, for any reason.
- If we have items to trade or sell and if we want to sell them or trade them to a guildmate, then the price is to be lower than for the public.
- Participation to Guild Events is not a must, but it shows a commitment to the Guild. If we have a guild event and you are on, please try to attend.
- Dont forget that your hunting for experience comes before the rest, so if you are busy and another guildmember asks you a favor, like a res or a tele, you can refuse or delay it so you can continue with what you are doing. If you are not busy then please lend a hand if the request is reasonable.. but if not, dont feel guilty for refusing.
2. For previous member's of FA, to be RE-INVITED back into the guild will need a minimum of 1/2 +1 officer consent. And they will re-aply thru the guild message boards, as well as go thru a mandatory probation period (1 month) at which time thier membership into FA will be reviewed and voted on acceptance. Needing 1/2 +1 members consent. For members with more than one character, you only get one vote, not 2 or more.
Special note: By 1/2+1 officer/members voting, we mean active. Keep in mind game breaks, vacations etc.....so some may not be playing at the time of the voting. If you can log on and vote, then by all means, your input is welcome...however there will be times when 1/2+1 can not be obtained. This will in turn be no fault of the player, and in the event of this, the voting can be posponed past the 1 month and the player will continue on a probationary basis.
For an officer/member to be considered active status, they must have had some game related interaction such as, logged into the game, sent email (to an officer or, web site manager), etc...within the last 30 days from whenever a vote is being taken. Otherwise your considered inactive status and will not be incuded in the 1/2+1.
Member's with at least 1 character in guild may invite any and all character's, belonging to that member (same account or different accounts), into the guild without going thru the probationary or voting process.
3. All member's accepted (be they old or totaly new) will be treated fairly and as all other member wish to be treated, reguardless of which way you voted (aye/nay). 'Bad blood' among member's will not be tolerated by any member or officer and dealt with accordingly, up to and including guild removal. Vote reminder's can be posted using GMOTD.
4. Prospective NEW member's will be given the address of the WEB SITE (only). They should be directed to visit there and to veiw the guild charter, If they decide to become a member, they need to send an email to the site manager. The address is posted below. DO NOT give the email address in a /tell /ooc etc.....this help's to ensure they read the charter, just send them to the web site (www.oocities.org\fa_guildlist). There they should find out all they need to know about FA and how to get invited from the web site. Then after they decide they wanna join, they can contact any officer and get invited. There is NO minimum level to be invited. ie..we were all level 1 once. There is no vote required to perfom the initial invite (for NEW member's only, for RE-INVITES see guideline 2)
Officer performing the invite will ensure the new member visited the website, and knows they have agreed to follow the charter. At aproxx. the 1 month time frame officer's will vote on final approval, continue probationary period or removal. This vote should consist of a min 1/2 +1 approval.
(Note: Probationary period begins on invite all NEW members MUST EMAIL name, race, class and level to the address below. This will be used for record of when someone joined the guild and by so emailing they agree to follow the rules of our guild.)
5. Disbanding any member WILL have the consent of, at a minimum of 2 officer's. No officer may disband a member alone. Removal from guild should be used as last resort. And the officer actually removing a member will immediatly send email to the site manager (address on boards) explaining the removal (who, what, when, why) and officers present at. The site mananger will remove the member from the guild roster at earliest possible time. No member disbanded may return to guild status until a period of 3 month's has past. Cooling off period. If however the member is again removed, that time will go to 1 year. If a member that has been disbanded has more than one charater in guild, all character's will be removed (any and all accounts).
6. The minimum level for new officer is level 30 and/or 6 month's in guild status. This allows player's to get to know each other and guild way of doing thing's. Any officer can recomend a player to become officer status. This will be done in a email. After a brief debate/discussion period (usually a week, but can be done in one day) a vote will be taken. A vote of 1/2 +1 officer's is needed. As an officer you are representing not only the guild but your race/class. You will become the resident expert of that class. Be prepaiered to answer and share your knowledge with those of your class.
7. All officer business will be kept in closed forum (to prevent embarassment and 'bad blood') Where arguments for inviting and the voting shall take place. NO officer business will be made public without the entire (100%) consent of the officer's (active) of FA.
8. ALL Members need to email any change of email addies to me. Address below.
Note from Flavee: Let it be said that these are not rules cut in stone, they are guidelines. Not every situation can be covered or anticipated. We as officer's of Foreign Alliance will go by these guidelines as closely as possable, but some deviation or change may be in order, situation depending. Any changes/deviation will be taken up in closed forum and decided as a group(majority rules in this case). If the situation allows. If by chance the situation does not allow time for discussion, then at least 2 officer's consent is required to deviate/change the guidline's. All CHANGES (voted on in closed forum) will be posted in open forum for all to adhere to (and a message will be posted on GMOTD, stating changes have been made). Any deviation to these guidlines where 2 officer consent was needed, should be emailed to me ASAP.
I will forward it to all officers, just to keep everyone on the same page.
Any problems, questions, etc email me at: faguild@bak.rr.com
I would like to hold, at a minimum, officer meetings (once/month), and entire membership meetings (once every 3 months) as time allows. These can be done other than in game, (using EQ chat, FA web site chat etc...) hard to play and meet. We can discuss change's to guild policy, trading, crafting, events etc.....times can be sent via GMOTD (posted by any officer).
These guidelines will take effect on the date of posting to the web site, any actions prior to this date will taken on a case by case basis and be decided in closed forum.
