The criminal mastermind called the Rose removed the body of Doctor Octopus from its grave and had it taken to a meat-packing plant on Manhattan's lower west side. There, the Rose called upon the Asia order of the Hand to perform a ceremony on the body to ressurrect it and then bring it under his control.
Spider-Man, having been captured by the Rose and his minions, was to have his lifeforce used in the ritual to revive the late criminal genius. But, through a supreme effort, the webspinner escapped and was persued by the Rose's chief enforcer - the deadly Delilah. Having defeated Delilah, Spidey returned to the scene of Ock's emminent ressurection to discover that the ceremony had been complete with the Stunner self sacrifice and thus... Doctor Octopus lived again! |
Norman Osborn, the villanous Green Goblin, returned to New York having secretly purchased a controling interest in the Daily Bugle newspaper.
At a lavish press conference, Osborn claimed that he had fled to Europe several years ago because his life was threatened by the Spider-Man. he also denied ever having been the Green Goblin, a charge which was never proven. Peter Parker, who had attended the party, was so furious at Norman's lies, he later burst into Osborn's penthouse as Spider-Man and roughed up the newly returned industrialist, in an unusual fit of rage. But the webspinner was unaware that Osborn had antecipeted such scene, and so had hidden cameras record the attack, thus reinforcing Norman's contention that Spidey had it in for him. In the november edition of this comics, the Daily Beagle news placed a million dollar bounty on Spider-man head. |
