Fri. Aug. 30 or 31, I don't know, at 12:37am Yeah so I haven't updated in a while. I could have last week or this week, but I just didn't want to. But now I do... I mean, I'm actually in a good mood, which is amazing. I had this big talk with Tim two nites ago about how I never go out of my way to make myself happy (whether that's true or not, I don't know) and how I am awfully pessimestic (can't spell). This is true. He just asked me what I thought about a certain person we both know, and I found myself saying only negative things. He told me I need to be a little more positive and not be so judgmental. And that kinda hit home. Because it's true. That's what I like. People telling me what's wrong with me rather than what's right, because how am I ever supposed to improve if I don't know what I'm doing wrong? So thanks for the talk, it was nice for someone to tell me what to fix. Anyhoo, with that in mind, I actually went to Nowak's tonite with a positive attitude. So yeah, I'm in an amazing mood now because I saw that not everyone hates me, which is what I thought most of the summer. Kinda sad, but it's true. This may sound really stupid, but whatever, I'm in a reflective mood. *dances* ANYHOO, enough of the emotionnal crap. Nowak's party was so much fun. I'm listening to Chevelle - The Red and this is a really good song. I bought the new Coldplay album on the day it came out (lol) and it's AMAZING. I love The Scientist, A Rush Of Blood To The Head, and Warning Sign. My brother bought Oasis Morning Glory, the Sam Robert's cd, and the new Hives cd. They're all amazing. It's nice that he finally likes music I do because I can just borrow the cds without paying, lol... I also stopped off at cd shack last week, and picked up The Green Album, finishing my collection of Weezer cds. Anyhoo, I should get going, I've got to get up at 7 tomorrow (ugh) and go to my cottage. Hopefully I'll get to see Babin, Jeremey, and Cori this weekend. I will not be The Cheat this time, lol... And Happy Birthday Jeremey! "And what? It's my birthday and here's a million dollars? Or it's my birthday and here's your own spaceship? I mean, what the f... Oh no! They got him! Oh Jeremey... I pine for you... I'm going to miss you bro." Bye! Tues. Aug. 20, 2002 at 1:22am Woo! Back in town! But not for long again, lol... only until Friday morning. But hey, it's the end of the summer. I want to spend as much time away from home as I can, since I'll be there the rest of the year. I'm in the most amazingest mood, I can't really stop smiling. Music might have something to do with it. I finally got my Coldplay tickets! Agh! I can't wait for that concert! And I'm loving my Express Vu more at my cottage every weekend. Favourite station is Edge Tv, which plays all the music I like 24 hours a day (only station I've seen with 3 Radiohead videos in 5 hours). Because of this, I've heard so many new bands, songs, and stuff that I like. I make a list every trip of stuff to get when I come home. Haha, 13 songs later tonite... I also recorded the making of Keep Fishin' on MTV (it's so cute), so whenever I get that capture card working, I'll post it somewhere. I dunno if MM plays those... maybe they do, I dunno. Anyhoo, I bought 3 new cds in Parry Sound. Reanimation by Linkin Park (ABSOLUTELY AMAZING), Highly Evolved by The Vines (another amazing new band. Sounds like a mix of Radiohead, Blur, Weezer and Sloan all in one, making this one of my favourites now) and Pinkerton. I love The Good Life and Why Bother?. My brother got the new Red Hot Chili Peppers cd, so I'll be borrowing that a lot :) Aside from music, I did a lot of swimming, sleeping, eating and reading. On Sat we went over to John's and I got to see Ryan for the first time in 2 years. Holy, he got older. I didn't realize he's only a year younger than me. STILL haven't seen Warren or Matt this summer, but next weekend's the big 5 family party. Both of them will be there. Woo! I've been driving the boat a lot more, and therefore cleaning it a lot more. I want everything to be perfect when Marta/Nowak/Andrea come up. I hope the water's still warm... hmmm... something tells me Marta won't mind, lol. I drove my grandpa's Volvo a lot, and discovered it can do 280. We saw a bear on our property, 2 deer, numerous flying squirrels and a fisher this weekend. There's nothing quite like falling asleep to the sound of an owl and two loons mixed with crickets outside your window. I think all cottage people feel this way :) I wish I was up there more, I'm just so relaxed. I couldn't breathe very well when I got back today, I guess I'm used to the fresh air. But anyhoo, I spent a bit of time working in Photoshop again, and made 2 versions of desktops for that Toyota Matrix ad they show in theaters. And then I muddled about with 2 Radiohead desktops. Everything I did was from videos that were 352x240, so it was hard to make the pics better, but I think all four turned out ok. First Matrix desktop Second Matrix desktop First Radiohead desktop Second Radiohead desktop And so I'm off to the hairdressers tomorrow, and hopefully going out with a friend I haven't seen in a long time after :) We'll see. Cha! Fri. Aug. 9, 2002 at 1:31am AHHH!!! Home again! But leaving tomorrow morning! AHHH!!! I've been trying not to update before I left, I dunno why, just because I'm kinda sick of updating, and I was way too busy/tired to type anything. But I'm listening to that new Linkin Park remix cd (sooooo good) and I'm getting energy. At the cottage I watched Castaway, Big Momma's House, American Pie 2, Joe Dirt and The Blair Witch Project (do not watch at 2am with no lights on). I figured out how to program a 1979 vcr to record a Weezer All Access on MTV while I was home, lol... I got home Tues nite and went to Queen's at around 8am (got home at 10pm) on Wend. BEAUTIFUL UNIVERSITY. HOLY. I'm praying I can go there, it was just so perfect and so smart feeling (hahaha). But I think I'd feel so stupid there. I mean, my marks are high, but not THAT high. Because of the amount of smart people they get applying, they only give out scholarships if you have 96%+. I dunno... I'll try, but I'm not expecting anything. Guelph is still one of my first choices too :) I went to Mac today, and I guess I didn't really like it... I dunno... It just wasn't as nice as Queen's or Guelph. But it's the programs that really matter I guess. Anyhoo, tonite was fun :) Marta and I went out to Laserquest AGAIN, and she got first both games. Yeah, you cheater. Crouching in your little corner while I'll block you... you suck. I got fourth and second. "She loves me!!!... She loves me noooottt...." Oho, Homestar Runner, how we love you. I drove the QEW (HIGHWAY!!! Well, I've probably done around 600km this week. I've gotten a lot of highway practise. I'm driving all the way by myself to the cottage tomorrow) to AMC, where we saw Signs (pretty good movie [I'm sorry I didn't see it with you, Spaky! It was a girls nite out :) But I'll see it again, definitely]). We got there like, 9, but we got bubble tea, so we missed seeing everyone who went to Austin Powers III. I then drove Marta home on the highway (again!) and went to her place for a bit to indulge in Homestar Runner and see the new stuff she bought in New York. *shakes her head* Glow-in-the-dark pants... how sad :) Gimmie your bracelet! Rippoff-er. So I got home after 12, then met with my brother/Paul/Mike who got home around 1 or so. And now I'm tired, wanting to go to sleep. So bye! I guess I'll be back around the 19th or so. This is an 'extended' time. :) I finally get to see Ryan next weekend! And Warren! And Amanda! Lol, tataa! Thurs. Aug. 1, 2002 at 7:12pm Wooooo.... I'm home! Well, I've been home since Monday nite, but that's beside the point. I got my boating license! *dances* Highest mark in the class, and I didn't even take the course. We got back really late Monday (like 10), because it was pouring rain all the way home. I got postcards from Jenn and Andrea, thanks! But it's weird I got both the same week when Andrea was in Mexico a month ago... Tues I went to Guelph University. It was beautiful. They even have fencing available for the students!!! They had an auto shop, so if I ever got a car, you know I'd be putting in the NOS there, lol... I loved some of the rooms, and the whole look of the campus was something I would love to live in. I'm seriously thinking of going there for 3 years, and then to Queens or Toronto for my graduate. Amanda said she might be going to Guelph too, so we could share a room!! AHH! Amazing! Later that night I went to see Austin Powers III with Marta and Spaky. Yeah... umm... needless to say I was really disappointed in it. They totally screwed up the whole plot, and I'm praying they won't do a sequel. But we'll see. On Wednesday I didn't do much, except hook up the pc and router, cut the grass, entertain Nowak and Andrea for 30 mins, and talk to Amanda for a l-o-n-g time. We haven't seen each over forever! Hopefully she can come to my cottage later in the summer :) Today I went to University of Toronto. It was soooo hot... I don't think I would live in residence there, it's too close to home. Julie Kim was there, so we spent the tour time together. On the way home we took the wrong train, and ended up at Clarkson Go, overpassing Port Credit where we parked. Notice the lack of knowledge of public transit here. Hahaha... So now I'm working on a web site which I might actually get paid for (^_^) and resting my eyes (slightly). They're still sore from too many screens on Tues (movie in the second row, lol... and computer till 3am). My computer's coming up to my cottage tomorrow, so I want to get back into Photoshop. So bye to Nowak, Marta and Matt Nash, and hello to Jenn and Jeremey. Hope you all have (or had) a great trip! Happy birthday to Brian and Laura! I'm coming back next Tues to look at MacMaster and Queen's, so hopefully I can see some people. But it will be typical that people will have their birthday parties or whatnot while I'm gone. Oh well, I'll be partying on Lake Joesph, lol... bye! |
