| Famous for its
backwaters cruises, 56 km south of Kochi, this is Allepuzha. One of the
centers for backwaters trip in Kerala. Other spots are Kochi
(Ernakulam) and
Kollam (Quilon).
Kettuvallom or houseboat is the main attraction here if you like to spend a night on the river and lake. Suitable for couples and honeymooners as well as singles like me. Along the rivers and canals, you'd get to see fishing villages, perhaps some village girls doing their laundry or hey! even taking a shower... just kidding. This is a must thing to do in Kerala. Now I remember when I was in secondary school, many of classmates were of Malayalam descent. And they used to call each other "fisherman", now I know why..
