The phone rang again about a minute after I had finished talking to Nick. I again let the machine get it in case it happened to be Brian.
"Sorry, I'm not home right now, please leave a message and I'll get back to ya as soon as I can!" the message played again.
"Hey baby, I am so sorry, I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am. I love you. Please answer the phone, We need to talk." There was a slight pause, "Well you know where to reach me. I love you." Brian said into the machine.
Just hearing the sound of his voice made me cry even harder. There was a knock at the door. I wiped my eyes, and got up to answer it.
"Hey Dannii." Nick said pulling me into a hug.
"Nick." I said bursting into tears again.
"Shhh. It's gonna be ok." he said shutting the door. I pulled away and walked back to the living room. Nick followed and sat down next to me.
"Has he called you?" Nick asked.
"Yes, but I didn't answer it." I replied.
"That's probably best now." he said sounding sad.
"I packed his stuff." I said pointing to the stack of boxes near the door. "Would you mind taking it to him?" I asked.
"No problem." he assured me.
"Thanks," I replied, "I just don't want to be anywhere near him right now."
"I know." he said sympathetically.
"Why Nick? Why did he do that?" I said crying again.
"I don't know." he replied putting his arms around me again.
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to be like this. I'll stop." I said apologetically, wiping my eyes again.
"No, you need to get this out of your system, it's alright. You were there for me when I broke up with Mandy." Nick replied.
"I know, I will, but right now, I just wanna forget about the whole thing for awhile." I said leaning my head on his shoulder.
He nodded. "So do you want to watch a movie then?" he suggested.
"Sure, sounds good, I'll go make some popcorn." I said walking into the kitchen.
Nick got up and looked for a movie, from my entertainment center. I returned with a bowl of popcorn, to see that Nick had picked out Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
