"Ooh, Good choice." I laughed, sitting back down next to Nick.
"Yeah," he nodded grabbing some popcorn.
About ten minutes into the movie the phone rang again.
"Are you gonna get it?" Nick asked pausing the video.
"No, I'll just let the machine get it, ya know just in case." I said trailing off.
"Oh, here, let me answer it." he laughed.
I shrugged my shoulders and handed him the cordless phone.
"Hello?" he asked picking up the phone.
"Who is it?" I mouthed. He just shook is head. He stood up and walked out on the balcony.
"No man, you can't talk to her." I heard him say.
"What do you mean 'Why not?' you know exactly why!" he said angrily.
"I'm here because I didn't want her to be alone, you should know by now how much she hates that." Nick replied.
"No, I'm not gonna put her on the phone, she doesn't want to talk to you." he said sternly.
"Do you have any idea how much you hurt her?" he asked. "She hasn't stopped crying since she saw you this afternoon," he said sadly.
"Look, if you want her back as badly as you say, I don't know why you would have done what you did in the first place," he almost shouted.
"Sorry, but I don't know what you're gonna do either," he said hanging up the phone. He walked back into the living room, seeing me curled into a ball crying again.
"Well, I suppose that was Brian." I said softly.
"Yeah, it was." he sighed sitting down next to me.
"Come, on let's just forget about it for awhile," he smiled turning the movie back on.
I took a deep breath, and nodded.
I woke up the next morning, stumbled out of bed, and walked into the kitchen to make some coffee. To my surprise the boxes were gone, and so was Nick. Last night we were both extremely tired and I told Nick he could sleep on the couch if he wanted, and he did. There was a note on the kitchen table. It read:
Dear Dannii,
Hey! Sorry I didn't say goodbye. I just wanted to drop off those boxes at Brian's. I'll be back soon.
Love,
Nick
I got out my French Vanilla Café, and my coffee mug. I stood there for a second, remembering the mornings Brian had made my coffee for me.
"Dannii? What are you doing to yourself? You can't even make your own coffee without thinking about him!" I said to myself. There was a knock at the door. I looked at myself, seeing I was still in my purple and pink plaid Joe Boxer pajama pants, and a pink tank top. I glanced in the mirror, seeing eyes were red and puffy from crying. I shrugged it off, and figured it was just Nick anyway. I opened the door and nearly collapsed.
