Chapter Twenty-one

“Damn it!” AJ cursed under his breath. They’re caught in the mud. “I knew I shouldn’t have drive though the woods!” AJ said bitterly.

“It’s okay... This is going to be one of the memories we talk about when we’re 80 years old and sitting on the rocking chairs.” Sarah laughed, trying to lighten up the mood. And it worked, a smile on spread across AJ’s face and his features started to relax. But the relaxing look soon faded when it started to rain.

“Ahhh! Why did I take the convertible?” AJ yelled out in agony as he and Sarah ran for cover. Luckily for them, a small, abandoned cabin came into their view.

“I can always call Kevin and tell him to pick us up.” AJ announced.

“But Kevin would be pissed and he’s spending the night with Krystina! Besides, we can’t be that far from the city. Call him tomorrow.” Sarah comforted.

“Fine, looks like we’ll be spending the night here.”

After a short while, they were cuddling next to the fireplace. There was some broken furniture in the cabin and AJ has a lighter.

“I’ll never complain about you smoking again.” Sarah yawned.

“How nice of you.” AJ laughed.

“I’m tired.”

“Me too, try to get some sleep.” AJ told her as they both lay down on the wooden floor. AJ put his arms around her gently; her figure fits into his embrace perfectly.

“AJ?”

“Shhh, I know what you’re thinking... I love you. And I believe that you’re worth the wait.” With that, AJ drift off to sleep, leaving Sarah staring off into the empty space.

“But I’m not worth it...” Sarah thought, looking at AJ’s handsome face. She took a deep breath then closed her eyes and tried to get some sleep.

Sarah woke up finding AJ staring at her. “Hey, babe.” She kissed him gently on the cheek.

“You’re so beautiful.” AJ sighed adoringly.

“Thanks, how long have you been staring at me?”

“About an hour or so.” AJ smiled didn't bother to hide the fact that he enjoyed watching her.

“Did you call Kev?”

“Yeah, he’s gonna pick us up. Whoever invented cell phones that’s water proof is a genius!” AJ grinned mischievously. Sarah couldn’t help but laugh. Soon, Kevin arrived and dropped them off at AJ’s house.
