"Let's go inside. You're soaked." Angela suggested
as she pulled Nick in the hotel. As soon as she wrapped a towel around
Nick, she called Brian to pick them up.
"Are you guys okay now?" Brian asked from the
driver seat, looking in the reflection mirror to check on the couple sitting
in the back.
"Yeah, thanks for asking." Angela smiled.
"Good to know." Brian simply commented as he stopped
at the driveway of Nick's house. "Here you are, I've got to go back to
Amanda and the rest of the fellas, that's if they weren't killed by curiosity
yet." Brian grinned then sped off.
"Are you going to be okay?" Angela asked as she
pulled the covers over Nick.
"Yeah, I'll be fine in the morning, now try to
get some sleep."
"Okay, night." Angela checked the covers again
then left the room and walked down the hall to the guest room. As soon
as she lay down on the soft mattress, a feeling of contentment and security
swept over her.Within in seconds, she fell asleep peacefully.
The next morning, the rest of the guys and their girlfriends dropped by. Of course, except for Sarah. Even though Nick wasn't feeling too well, he hid in and somehow managed to pull it off in front of Angela and the boys. He didn't want to be known as the baby of the group anymore, he wanted to show that he's tough and a little flu couldn't get him. He also believed that the sickness would go away eventually. On the other hand, hugs, kisses and a few complaints greeted Angela.
"You scared me to death when you disappeared." Krystina said.
"That makes the two of us." Nick muttered.
"Yeah, you should have seen him! He searched the apartment like crazy, he even looked in the toilet!" Brian added.
"I did not! I was just..." Nick stopped as he covered his mouth and ran for the bathroom. His stomach heaved, he kneeled down on the tiled floor and when there was nothing in him to heave up anymore, he sat there in front of the toilet for a moment. Until there was a knock at the door, Nick pulled himself to his feet and opened it.
"Oh no." Angela sighed, she reached out and touched Nick's forehead. Her cool fingers felt nice against his burning skin. She stroked his hand and handed him a Kleenex; then she headed out to the living room.
"Brian, Nick is sick." Angela announced.
"That rhymes." AJ laughed.
"I'm not joking, he's really sick, he was burning up. We've got to take him to a doctor."
"There's no need. I'll be fine tomorrow." Nick was leaning against the door, pale as a ghost. He coughed and Angela was sure that he was going to hack up a lung.
Kevin's eyes widened a bit when he saw his weak friend. "This is what you get for singing in the rain like an idiot." Kevin hissed as he took Nick's weight of the door. He said good-byes then hurried to the car.
"I don't care." Nick mumbled when Kevin pushed him into the passenger seat.
"You're burning up."
But Nick wouldn't listen. "I don't care!" He said a little more forcefully. "If I had to do it again, I would do it gladly. I wouldn't change a thing! It was worth it to see her smile, to look into her eyes, to be able to hold her close to me... Nah, I wouldn't change a thing." Nick leaned against the window and closed his eyes.
