The doctor told Nick that there was nothing he
could do to ease his discomfort. He recommended plenty of bed rest, and
the occasional Tylenol for the headache.
"Are you sure there isn't anything you can do?"
Brian asked.
"Please, keep your voice down." Nick whined as
he rubbed his temples.
"I'm sorry. But there really isn't." The elderly
doctor apologized.
"It's okay, thank you." Nick thanked him and slowly
made his way out of the office.
Angela was ready and waiting to take over the nursing duties. She had insisted that it was her fault that Nick was sick, even though Howie tried to prove it otherwise.
"Angela! It was his idea of going out to the rain like an idiot! It has nothing to do with you." Howie told her for about the 500th times.
"But who was he out there being an idiot for?" Angela questioned then pointed at herself. "Me."
"You're hopeless." Howie sighed, but couldn't hide the grin on his face.
"Angela?" Sarah appeared at the doorway, a look of shame and needed forgiveness on her face. Angela chose to ignore her as she did ever since she got back together with Nick. Kevin nodded to AJ and Howie as the three of them left the room silently.
"Is she stubborn?" AJ whispered.
"Stubborn? Please, once that girl made her decision about someone, no one and nothing can change it." Kevin explained.
"Unless it's a miracle." AJ glanced at the closed door. "I need to know what's happening! It's so quiet." He stood up and put his ear to the door, but was pulled back by Howie.
"Shhh, let them figure out by themselves, you never know about girls. And getting in the middle of a cat fight isn't pretty." Howie warned his friends.
"How would you know?"
"Sisters." was Howie's answer.
"I understand that you're very upset with me." Sarah started.
"Upset? I'm way past that point. I have gone to pissed." Angela replied coldly.
"I didn't want to do that either, I had no other choice." Sarah pleaded, making a mental note to herself that Angela was actually talking to her again, even in a negative way.
"What? If you don't do what you did, you'll lose you're precious AJ?" Angela didn't bother to disguise the sarcasm in her tone.
"Yes. Marissa is blackmailing me."
"Sure she is."
"She really is, she's going to tell AJ my secret and I know for a fact that secret will make AJ leave me."
"What kind of secret?" Angela asked, her curiosity got the better of her.
"I can't tell you, but I want to be your friend again."
"What happened? You forgot your line in the script you and Marissa wrote?" Angela believed that Sarah was lying.
"Don't say that! I only did that because I can't lose AJ."
"Guess what? I almost lost Nick. Here's a taste of your own medicine." Angela said as she walked over to open the door.
"I'm sorry." Sarah refused to give up. Angela exited the room without looking back.
"How did it go?" the guys surrounded Angela when they saw her.
"She's lying."
"Angel, she really needs your help, can't you tell by her eyes and her voice?" Kevin tried to reconcile the two girls.
"How do you expect me to help her when she was the one that almost took away everything I valued in my life?"
"Just think about it okay?"
"Think about what?" Nick asked when he opened the front door, he caught the last bit of conversion.
"Nothing, you should go and lie down." Angela rushed over and took Nick to his room. She tucked him in and got him something to drink. "Try to get some sleep, OK?" She asked softly.
"I can't, I'm afraid when I wake up, I'll find you missing." Nick pouted.
"I'm not going anywhere, I promise. And I never break a promise in my life. Now close your eyes and rest." Nick nodded and closed his eyes.
