"don't stop talking, just because I did" christie (my little sister), not for me

I guess I just really enjoy making lists, but if I had to list people that I admire, it'd be one of the most fun things I could think of to do.

Tonight Mom and I went into town to do some errands for work and to get groceries. My mom is such an admirable person. She is truly the hardest worker I know. She is so smart and puts her heart and soul into everything she does. I told her tonight how impressed I was with her, because she has learned so many things for her job that she didn't even have to take the time to know.

Aside from Mom's hard work and responsibility, I also really admire her sense of humor. She is so funny, and she completely cracks me up sometimes. I have a quirky sense of humor myself, so I really can see that I've gotten some of it from her. Some of the funniest times happen just while grocery shopping. I was being really funny in the grocery store tonight, making my silly comments about food and any other things that popped into my head.

I also admire her willingness to accept me and enjoy me. For example, I wore my bright, multi-colored, striped fleece pj pants and a hoodie into town tonight, and she never even said anything about it. I told her horrendous things about the meat and food industry in general, and she didn't get sick of me or angry at me. She has let me be a non-dairian for 2 years and buys me soy milk. She even started drinking it and her cholesterol came down.
She did a great job of bringing me, and my sisters, up. I think the reason that all of us are so driven to learn, grow, enjoy life, and become our best has a lot to do with the values she helped reinforce in us as we were growing up.

My mom is just a great person, and I admire her so much. She just really awed and amused me tonight, and I felt like writing about her. Even though she does annoy me on Saturday mornings when I'd rather sleep in :)
