ELI SCHOFIELD 1876-1921
AND HIS DESCENDANTS

Eli was the youngest son of
Benjamin and Eliza.
He was born on the 2nd December, 1876 at 16 Beaconsfield Street, Audenshaw
which is near to Ashton-under-Lyne.
Most of his young life was spent in Mossley.
After emigrating to the USA
in 1893 aged 16 years, he married Sarah Parkinson on the 13th June, 1896
in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Sarah was the daughter of Joseph Parkinson
and Mary Ann Jackson and she was born on the
31st October, 1878 in Stockport, Cheshire.
She emigrated in 1894.

In 1900, Eli was employed as a "carder", presumably he had worked in the
cotton mills in England and it was this skill that had probably urged him to
seek a new, and better, life in America.
Eli died in March 1921 in Fall River and Sarah died on the 3rd August, 1964
in New Castle, PA.
Eli and Sarah had eleven children:
Matthias
was born 15 January 1898 in Fall River.
He married Alice Rose Tester in about 1921.She was born 22 April 1901 in
Scotland.
Matthias served in Haiti
with the Marines and he was a Salvation Army Minister.
He died 6 September 1970 in Santa Barbara, California and Alice Rose died 13
December 1987 in Santa Barbara, CA.
Matthias and Alice Rose did not have any children.

George Milton was born in December 1901 in Fall River. He died in 1903.

Ernest was born 23 October 1902 in Fall River, He married Bertha Smith in
about 1929 in Fall River.
Ernest served with the CB's in WW2 Pacific.
He died in September 1974 in Fall River.

Herbert Clifford born

He married Mildred Elizabeth Mepham 29 December 1939 in Cambridge, Mass.
Mildred was born 1917 in East Liverpool, Ohio.
Herbert Clifford was a Salvation Army Officer and died in May 1982 in
Monmouth, New Jersey.

William born about 1940. He married ? Chamberland and they had two children.
