Steve's Leg

December 24, 1999 -- ???

* February 1987 -- Steve had an emergency appendectomy. A week after he was released from the hospital, he went back in for DVT therapy--deep vein thrombophlebitis.

* December 24, 1999. Steve's leg cramped up--guess what??? DVT part two.

* December 29, 1999. Steve was able to get in to see the doctor. Following an ultrasound @ Sierra View District Hospital, it was determined Steve had redeveloped DVT.

* January 15, 2000. NEW THERAPY! Heparin can now be given @ home via injection; no more hospital stay:-) I've been @ home since the 29th; doctor has me off at least one more week (back to the dr. on 1/21/2000).

* January 21, 2000. Dr. released Steve to go back to work on Monday, January 24, 2000!

* March 16, 2000. Steve to doctor. Continue to drink fluid, keep leg up as much as possible, continue with medication @ present level and return to doctor in six weeks.

* June 2000. Steve went to the hospital for a follow-up ultrasound on his leg. Clots are still there (sad face). New therapy...using dietary changes, increased exercise, Omega 3 oils and Bromelain.

* January 2002. Steve whacked his leg on a table leg. Due to poor circulation, his leg got infected. He was off work for a week, then his leg was medicated and wrapped for ten days.

Continue to pray...thanks!
