Vegita

	Vegita is known as the "bad guy among the good guys."He was first seen during the Saiyan saga when both he and Nappa heard Raditz transmission about the Dragonballs and so started his quest for immortality. At this point he was a bad guy, Vegita is the rightful Prince of the Saiyans, he is very proud and has an ego bigger than the universe. Vegita is constantly trying to prove that he is the strongest fighter in the universe, it is because of this that he has a continual rivalry with Goku and always seem to underestimate Gokus power, this is seen when he and Goku first fight in the Saiyan Saga. Because on the Saiyan home Planet of Vegita Goku was classed as a low level fighter, this meant that he should be nowhere near the level Vegita is at, this is where Vegita underestimates Gokus power resulting in his close defeat(Goku is close to dying aswell).
It is during the Frieza saga that Vegita is turned to the good sidebecause of a mutual enemy between both him and the Z fighters, FRIEZA!! We also see that here Vegita is fascinated by Gokus power has increased so dramatically in such a short time and his jealousy towards Goku is enraged by this because Goku seems to always be one step ahead of him. Vegita ends up having a child with Bulma, his name is Trunks. Eventhough this has happened Vegita is still a very proud person but is a lot less egotistical.

Trunks

Trunks is the son of Vegita and Bulma. There are two Trunks that are seen one TV one is the Future Trunks the other is the Present Trunks(or Chibi Trunks). The story goes that Trunks is from a future where all the Z fighters are killed by both Androids 17 and 18, except for Goku who dies of a heart disease, Gohan is the only one who survives(check out the movie "Trunks:the future that never was"). If you have been watching Dragonball Z you will have seen that Trunks travels back in time 20 years to give Goku medicine for the disease and warn him of the Android threat. Because Trunks done this and other things like coming back to help them fight the androids, he ends up finding out that he has altered the timeline and his time compared to the present time are to different timelines(Cell ends up figuring this out when he sees Trunks alive in the present timeline).
The future Trunks and the present Trunks are two diffenrent people alltogether, the future Trunks ends up being one of the most powerful fighters and surpasses everyone except Gohan and Goku(possibly). As for the present Trunks he only ever reaches the stage of Super Saiyan he nevers gets as strong as the future Trunks this would probably be because he never had killer androids that fueled his ambition to train so that he can destroy them, and so he grew up in a time that was more peaceful than the future trunks. At the moment future Trunks is helping the Z team fight Cell in his perfect form and he is a key role in this fight. During the Cell Saga Trunks gets the opportunity to get to know his father because Vegita was killed when Trunks was only a baby and therefore did`nt know him, although Vegita is a proud warrior he still has some feelings for Trunks(more of a proud feeling than love). This is seen throughout the saga especially when Vegita is fighting Cell in his second form and acknowledges Trunks`s power as a mighty Saiyan warrior.
