When Mr. Cook first called me he said that Shep was the best dog he had owned in his life, and he was 83 years old. Mr. Cook had had a terminally ill grandchild and the child had a special relationship with Old Shep, so this dog was a very special family member. So the next time Susie Q came in heat, I bred her to Shep.
As they say, "the rest is history!" ;-}
After keeping her during her heat cycle, Mr. Cooke said that Susie Q was the most obedient dog he had ever been around.
Johnny B Goode (Tip) was my favorite male from that litter. He in turn is the sire of Doug Johnson's Sunny (Cimarron Tequila Sunrise) and Lisa and Mark Martin's Sunrise Sweet Sadie Mae.
My favorite female was Norma Elwell's Taffy (Tuff Travelin Taffy). Taffy is the dam of Tish toren's Suzy (Blacksheep Suzy)

Happy is a great dog. doesn't like people but he likes animals even cats.
I like animals too. I grew up on a horse, so now since I can't ride- the kids started me out in the donkey business. They are very tame and I can pet them any time. I have a young little donkey now and it is awful playful so they chase one another first donkey chases the dog and then the dog chases the donkey- really fun to watch them play. When one donkey starts braying, Happy rushes out beside it. They even lay down together. Happy is by Cook's Old Shep and out of Kozar's Molly
