Thanks go out to everyone who helped spread word about the revival of SWE! The first meeting was a success, and there were previous members as well as those who were interested in becoming new members. The total head count was 21 people! Thanks to Shannon Cash for his informative speech about co-op study, and a very special thanks to Delores DeGroff for helping SWE get back on it's feet! Here's to a new SWE! |

This is for people who would like to become a national member of SWE. Please visit the official web-site of the Society of Women Engineers, and download a copy of the membership application. Fee information is listed on the application, and I am pretty certain that Delores DeGroff will be the one to fill out the "sponsered by" section (if that needs to be filled out at all). |

There will be an SWE meeting this Friday at 2:00pm in room 463 in the S&E building. The SWE Southeast Section President, and possibly some of her coworkers, will be there as speakers. She is an engineer in the industry, so if you have questions this will be a wonderful opportunity to speak to someone and learn some new things. Flyers will be posted throughout the week in buildings. If you wish to help hang these flyers, contact Abby Ross. She'll give you some flyers and general info. |
10/17/01: Wednesday
There is going to be a pizza party for current Fundamentals of Engineering students on Halloween (a Wednesday), October 31st in Old Engineering Building lobby area. There will be two "sessions" of this party, one at 11:00 am - 12 noon, and the other from noon to 1:00 pm. Our President, Abby Ross, asks that any and all members who are interested in helping SWE prepare a SWE posterboard please contact her and let her know if you're interested in helping out. These words from Abby herself: "[anyone who is available to help with the board on] Thursday, Oct. 25 at 11am... please reply. If your schedule conflicts, please let me know what is good for you personally and possibly we could schedule something else around you guys. I would like a great turnout, and the more help the easier this will be. It's nothing hard or long, and the design for the posterboard is rather simple, mainly informational. We are just looking for people to help put it together and it's of course a great way to bond..."

REMINDER!!! This was mailed by Abby Ross: "Just one more quick reminder....This Thursday, Oct. 25 at 11am we will be meeting in the Old Engineering Lobby to work on the posterboard for the Halloween Pizza Party. If you can come, please bring any type of craft materials you may have....we would really appreciate everyone's help and participation! Again, next Wed., Oct. 31st, we will need volunteers to stand around our posterboard and answer any questions, or give out information to the potential interested members, male or female, and to help with pizza, etc. Please let me know if you are available, otherwise, just show up. (Eng. lobby) The times are from 11am to noon and noon to 1pm. Thanks guys!"... Thanks Abby!

Hey all. Here's the latest request from our president! "Hey everyone, I just wanted to invite you all to help finish the posterboard for this Wednesday, Oct. 31st, Halloween, to be displayed in the engineering lobby. Unfortunately, only about 4 people were able to come on Thursday, and we did not get it done in time for us all to go to our classes. So, tomorrow at 2pm we will be finishing it up...please come join us if you are available! Same place, engineering building lobby... Thanks guys, Have a nice day- Abby" There ya have it, folks!

Hey guys :) It's been a while since anything new has happened. There is a pizza party happening Wednesday at 2 pm to celebrate the end of the semester! Everyone is invited, so bring anyone you want! The place hasn't been declared yet, but you'll be informed as soon as it is known. Good luck to everyone on their finals, and have a great winter break!

Here's an update from our pres!
Hello everyone,
Once again to reiterate, the SWE Pizza Party will be tomorrow at roughly 2pm in the Old Engineering building lobby. Everybody is welcome and we will be discussing Engineering Week of Spring 2002, scholarships, membership, and etc. Hope to see you all there, free pizza and soda, and of course, fun!!
Thanks everybody, and if you cannot make it, I hope your finals go well and have a great break, and I look forward to seeing you all in the spring for a new fresh semester with lots of activities.
