6. PETER CAIRNS: Sixth child born to James Cairns and Elizabeth
    Patterson.
    Born 23 Jun 1818, Eccles Parish, Berwickshire, Scotland, died
    11 Feb 1894 Plympton Twp., Ont. In 1840, he married MARY
    KNOX, born 23 May 1815,  died 10 Jul 1872. (d/o Andrew Knox
    and Elizabeth Dickson).
    Both buried Knox Church Cemetery, Camlachie, Ont.
    They had 4 children. Twins, Elizabeth and James

    Peter re-married in 1874 to Mrs. Mary (McGee) Durrant, born 1814,
    died 13 May 1889.
    Mary buried Wyoming, Ont. (With son George).

    Peter was fond of swapping horses and practiced Veterinary  work
    for some years and was very good  at it.

1. INFANT CAIRNS:  (Twin) Daughter. Died in infancy in Scotland.

2. INFANT CAIRNS: (Twin) Daughter. Died in infancy in Scotland.

3. ELIZABETH DICKSON CAIRNS: Born 17 Jun 1844,  Roxburghshire,
    Scotland, died 6 Jul 1892. On the 10 Apr 1863, she married Allan
    Gray.
    Elizabeth buried Knox  Cemetery, Camlachie, Ont.
   

4. JAMES KNOX CIARNS: Born 28 Jun 1847, died 12 Jan 1928. On the
    28 Jun 1875, he married Dorothy "Dora" Benson, born 10 May 1840,
    died 23 Feb 1912. (d/o John Benson and Mary ?).
    Both buried Knox Cemetery, Camlachie, Ont.
    They had 4 children. Lendell, George, Albert and Francis.

        (1) LENDELL BENSON CAIRNS: Born 28 Mar 1879, died 13 Nov
             1905, Hannah, North Dakota.
             Buried North Dakota ??  (Typhoid Fever).

        (2) GEORGE KNOX CAIRNS: Born 15 Feb 1881.

        (3) ALBERT EDWARD CAIRNS: Born 13 Apr 1883, died 1958.
             Buried Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Melfort, Sask.

             Albert was a School Teacher at Fletts Spring,  Sask.

        (4) FRANCIS PETER CAIRNS: Born 21 Aug 1886, died 14 Jul
             1895.
             Buried Knox Cemetery, Camlachie, Ont.
