Wesley and Doyle - the 'ship

Allen Francis Doyle - Angel's original sidekick, Irish half-demon and seer to the Powers that Be. He gave his life to save Angel and Cordelia and a bunch of half-demons in the episode "Hero", and was shortly after replaced by...

Wesley Wyndham Pryce - Buffy and Faith's English ex-watcher, re-styled as a Rogue Demon Hunter, since the Council fired him after 'his' Slayers renounced the council. He was taken on at Angel Investigations, to help Angel out in more or less the same role as Doyle - minus the visions, which were given to Cordelia.

In the uproar about Doyle being replaced on the show, Wesley proved quite unpopular with many fans, and it took a while for him to be accepted. However, there are those of us who liked both and think it's simply criminal that they were never together on-screen. Imagine what their dialogue would have been like. Imagine the slashy subtext. Unfortunately, all we can do is imagine it. Call us mad, if you like.
