Frank Hasbrouck Bevier: Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism
Lucy. 28" x 22". Oil on Canvas. 1981.
This is a portrait of Lucy Hunt. The original study for this painting was
completed in 1981 (Catalog# 81-112) and was a small - 10" x 9" drawing
done in ink on matboard. The final painting has a stippled effect.
Elizabeth. 17" x 18". Oil on Canvas. 1990.
I completed this painting when I lived in Greenwich Village, based on a small
preliminary painting which was done in oil on cardboard when I lived on
Morris Street in Albany, New York. Elizabeth Barnes was also used as the model for
several "Barrio" paintings which I completed after a trip to Tucson, Arizona,
in 1991.
Beach Huts at Hunstanton. 16" x 20". Oil on Canvas. 1990.
This is one of many paintings and drawings of the beach huts at Old Hunstanton.
Hunstanton is in Norfolk, England. These huts are used by the owners, or rented
out to holidaymakers, to use as changing rooms, or to make tea, or to get out
of the wind which frequently blows in from the North Sea. I visited Hunstanton
in 1990 and did this series based on black and white photographs which I took
when I was there, and from my childhood memories.
