OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR

Student Admission

Admission to study at FCC is privilege and not a right and is discretionary upon the College. There are standards that are must be met, policies to be followed and sustained. A Filamerian must uphold the vision, mission and goal of the college.

Students re-admission may be legally denied in case of academic deficiency, violation of school rules and regulations, closure of a program, or the closure of the college itself.

Removal of Incomplete Grades

A student who obtains a grade of INCOMPLETE for a reason of not having taken any of the periodic examination will take a special completion examination after paying the special examination fee. The payment may be done at the Cashier's Office.

For reasons other than not having taken any of the periodic examination, the incomplete grade may be removed by accomplishing his/her deficiency. All INC. grades must be completed before enrollment in cases where the subjects with INC. are pre-requisite subjects.

An Incomplete grade not removed within one year automatically becomes '5.0". The office of the Registrar issues the Completion grading sheet as soon as a student is ready to complete his/her grade and upon presentation of a receipt of payment.

Class Attendance

Attendance in classes is compulsory. No student shall earn credit in any given subject unless he attends at least 80% of the prescribed number of class hours.

Students are allowed to make up for excused absences. These absences are approved in writing by the Dean of the College in which the student is enrolled. However, absences merely "Noted" by the Dean are not excused absences.

Regardless of the kind of absences, students are always held responsible for the entire content of the course.

Students who absent themselves beyond the allowable number of absences without following the procedure for "WITHDRAWAL" shall be considered "DROPPED".

A "re-admission" or "excuse slip" duly noted by the Dean should be presented to his/her instructor on the day a student report to the classes.

Changing/Dropping

Changing and Dropping of subjects shall be done as endorsed by the Adviser and approved by the Dean and it must be received at the Registrar's Office within the prescribed period, usually within the first eight days after the close of enrollment.

Any student who desires to withdraw or drop must notify the Dean, the Registrar and the Business Office for possible refund.

Rules on Refund

Eighty percent (80%) of tuition and fees assessed except registration fee, is refunded if the student drops or withdraws within two weeks from the beginning of classes as per school calendar (within 6 days during summer). If he/she drops or withdraws after the second week, (after 6 days during summer) 50% will be refunded.

No refund or credits is allowed if the student drops or withdraws after four weeks from the beginning of classes (after the 12th day of Summer).

Pre-Requisite

Subject enrolled without the necessary pre-requisites should not be credited regardless of the grades obtained.

Accreditation of Subjects

The basis of accreditation is the descriptive title and not the course number. Where there is uncertainty, the transferee should be required to submit a detailed course description of the subject in question from his/her school of origin.

Request for Cross-Enrolment

Cross-enrollment may be granted under the following conditions:
  1. The subjects are not offered in the mother school during the particular term the student is enrolled.
  2. The total load must not exceed the prescribed number of units in the curriculum for the particular term.
  3. The student is graduating that particular term.
