The 1782 tax list indicated Isham's family consisted of 5 whites, perhaps himself, his wife, and 3 children. Isham's son Hukey/Hughkey was first son listed for taxes as age 16+ in 1793 which would place his birth at about 1777, so we can assume that Isham was married by that date, perhaps a couple of years earlier. Hughke's 1840 census gave his age as 50-60, apparently a few years younger than he really was. Son Jordan was first listed for taxes in 1797 and was 60-70 on the 1840 census. Considering both records, this would place his date of birth at about 1780/1781. Charnel/Charnold was first listed for taxes in 1800 which would indicate a date of birth around 1784.

Crecy (Lucretia) Bowen was listed on the 1840 census with 2 females age 40-50. The other female was probably her sister Holly Bowen. This census would place their birthdates between 1790-1800. Charlotte Bowen, daughter of Isham Bowen and widow of Asa Bowen, was listed on the 1840 census as age 60-70, placing her birthdate between 1770-1780.

If Isham was married by 1777, possibly earlier, his estimated date of birth might be between 1750 and 1758.

The executor of Isham's will, Salathiel Bowen, was the son of William Bowen III who was a son of William Bowen Jr as he was referred to several times in the records as "William Bowen son of William".

Although Isham Bowen's executor was a grandson of William Bowen Jr, and Isham named a daughter Lucretia which was also the name of William Bowen Jr's wife, Isham was not named in the will of Hicks Bowen as one of the siblings assigning their rights to the heirs as specified in Hicks' will. No records have been found to prove Isham's father at this time.
