a violin brings out a special meaning for me, as I am learning it as well. The name of my violin - "amadeo" - is derived from a Latin word which means "loving God". This violin was bought by my grandpa in 1928. I don't know much about the background, all that I knew is that he bought it from another person. My grandpa was a talented player, as told by my mum. Because I was introduced by this instrument when I was about 16. But I didn't get a formal education until the end of 1999 and the beginning of 2000 I entered a music school named Simfonia. My teacher is a person who seems to dedicate all his life to violin. He's Catur Kurniawan, but nicknamed Iwan. I was in Simfonia until the beginning of 2002, then moved to Amadeus (perhaps they picked Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's name) and here I am now, but my teacher is still Iwan, for he works there also. The owner of the school is Mrs Grace Sudargo (you'll be familiar with that name once you know about this field of music). I also received brief lesson from Syahrier Helmy, who is now the violin leader in Twilite Orchestra, the orchestra conducted by Addie MS. Amadeus is very strict in their rules, and I also join in Amadeus Orchestra, or Capella Amadeus, still in Junior field. It requires higher responsibility for being one. I still have my other violin, too. It is a Stradivarius one. And of course, it's much older than Amadeo is. I named it Stradi-17 for it was made in 17th century. Stradi-17 has clearer voice and much lighter in weight. but I think it's not time yet to use Stradi-17, I still have to learn so many techniques and interpretation to reach for a goal: be a good player. my concerts:
