The Latest and most updated news (and opinions) for Fear Factor on the Internet!
***************
4/16/02: Announced last night on Fear Factor, there are to be two more episodes that are special editions. I have complained in the past about how annoyed I am with specials, but these both don't contain celebs!!!
2 weeks from now (on the 29th) Fear Factor will have a special entitled "Twins Editions!" In which 3 pairs of twins compete for 50K! However, the catch is that the twins don't have to be partnered up! This could get messy...
And later, as I had predicted earlier (See the end of Episode 7 season 2 Summary) FEAR FACTOR CHAMPIONS SPECIAL! They showed Leslie in it again last night. I guess I was right then.

4/15/02: Dear Web-viewers
I am sorry to say that for the past 21 days, I have not been able to update my website, due to situations in my real life. However, I am now back, and I promise that I will get this site back in motion ASAP!!! By the end of tonight, the Episode 17 summarry and the Spring Break Special should be up, and the statistics will be updated. By the end of the week, hopefully, I will have had enough time to get this website rock and rollin. I hope this doesn't happen again soon. In the near future, I also plan to be adding more to the small games section. (I do hope!).
Now with that said, enjoy tonights "infamous" nudity episode!

3/16/02:Here is some interesting news: Joe Rogan is to guest star on NBC's sitcom, "Just Shoot Me" on Monday, March 25 at 9:00 pm, just after Fear Factor. (Talk about good strategy to boost a shows ratings!!!) In the episode, Rogan plays "Chris", who is Maya's new date. It goes on to say that Chris is an uuneducated building exterminator, and his lack of intelligence gets in the way oof their relationship. Now that ought to be somewhat funny! I might want to ccheck it out!

3/8/02: With our Celebrity special this week, There are now 3 more specials to be aired. They are also having a casting call for "CELEBRITY FEAR FACTOR 3." When it airs is unsure, but it will be at least a month or two before it airs. Expect big celebrities: They are advertising this one! They are letting people know that this is happening, and the 3 most famous guys and the 3 most popular girls will all get the ticket to the insane: Fear Factor.
The other special is for MTV's Spring Break 2002, a follow up to last year's "Survivor"-Dating show twist. It will be done LIVE! (Ouch!) FOR THE FIRST TIME! I will try to put up a simple summary for the special, but I don't have the details yet. However, that doesn't mean its not going to be Crazy. Expect those hyper-active partiers to go insane, about as much as those stunts they are doing will be!

2/26/02: Congrats to MATT HARDY, the WWF edition winner. I still think Jacqueline could have won, but you got it, and I can't do a thing.
More info on the celebrity edition: It shall feature Paul Mcartny! AND Soap Opera Star! Thats enough to make ME watch it!
Sorry about this week's summary. It seems it might end up getting posted a little late.
UPDATE: My bad...I mistook Paul Mcartny for Alan Thick (How could I!!!) Sorry if I now brought your hopes down:(. Also, the soap star is Alison Sweedy of Days of our Lives.

2/20/02: Although Fear Factor has recently had a good sucess in the U.S., spin-offs and counter-parts have been popping up in other countries, racking up rating there. Despite all this, there had never been a problem with any stunt...until now. On the particularly tough spinoff in Norway, a contestant (Oystein Berglund) managed to get a cow's eyeball stuck in his esophagus. According to Oystein, the eye was very hard to chew, so he just swallowed it, which led to the chaos. At first he just had chest pains, but then they got worse and worse. This lead to an operation to get the eye out from his body, which remained successful. Hopefully, this will be the first and last time something like this ever happens.

2/19/02: Okay, as I said earlier, there will be a WWF champion edition of Fear Factor. Since everyone will be watching NBC during the Winter Olympics, they are pouring out commercials for their shows and upcoming specials, including Fear Factor. I have studied these commercials carefully, and just as I thought, they do give away a little too much. Here is how each contestant does:
1. Mighty Molly-Mighty as she might be, she gets into a little trouble, actually, A LOT of trouble on the second stunt, believed to be eating blended organs of some animal.
2. Lita-We do not see any of Lita in these commercials, perhaps because she gets out first round? Or is she our winner?
3. Jacqueline-This has gotta be the best guess for winner: She doesn't mess up on the first stunt of jumping from pole to pole collecting flags, and neither the second stunt. Since they haven't shown anything from the final stunt, it is likely that she wins.
4.+5. Matt and Jeff Hardy. I don't watch WWF, but I gather these 2 are a joke on the twin hardy brothers, because they're twins too. It is nearly impossible to tell which is which. However, one of them (I'm thinking Jeff) takes a fall on the first stunt.
6. Test- Again, we don't see him in commercials. Winner or loser?
You guys at home: Keep your eyes peeled during the Olympics: You might see a clue as to who wins.

2/16/02: If you like these Fear Factor Specials, mark your calendars for March 11. It seems that there is yet to be ANOTHER celebrity edition of Fear Factor, premiering that day. However, this is one that may interest you anyways due to one simple fact: They've got BIGGER celebrities! Why do I say this? Well, Kevin Richardson of The Backstreet Boys is slated to appear on the show, although further contestants seem to be unannounced. My final comment to this: HAHA!!!! MAKE THEM EAT WORMS!!! LOTS OF WORMS!!!!!
***************
2/11/02: Okay, my mistake. I forgot that the Olympics will be showing tonight on NBC, including the Mens Snowboarding Qualifiers and the Figure Skating Pairs. This means that there will be NO, and I mean Zippo, Fear Factor showing for the next 2 WEEKS!!!! Can we survive...yeah! Hey, the olympics are about as competitve as one of the Greatest Reality Shows of ALL TIME!!! So until then, watch the Ski Jump, Women's Downhill, or how about Curling?

2/5/02: OPINION: A while back, in an interview with one of the shows producers, they said that they would never do a stunt with fire in it, for fear of the contestants getting serious burns AND them being afraid some idiot would try to recreate that particular stunt. This does seem kind of ironic, because in last nights episode (Eisode 5, Season 2), they had a huge explosion in the final stunt when the car hit the ramp, which had been planted on purpose. How is this fire less dangerous than any other fire?
Okay, so I am fairly biased about this because I DID sumbit a stunt involving fire that wasn't chosen, but still, it doesn't make sense to me. However, as I have said before, it is their decision, no mine.

2/4/02: NBC announced after tonight's episode (summary is up) that there was going to be yet ANOTHER special Fear Factor, this time featuring WWF Champions. This is going to be interesting, but it seems to make me wonder how many more of these are there going to be just to boost ratings? I will admit that I do enjoy seeing normal people, just like all the viewers out there, trying to do the stunts more than super strong people or celebs. But that is my opinion, not NBC's.

2/3/02: Congrats to Lauren, the winner of the Playmate edition of Fear Factor, Airing during Halftime and also after the Superbowl 36 Game! (Yeah Patriots). Even though it only got a rating of 5.9/10, it was enjoyable to watch them get tortured! Also congrats to Second Place Playmate Angel, who did give a lot of effort throughout the show.
2/5/02: UPDATE: As it turns out, the majority of critics did not care much for Sunday's Playmate special. A bunch called it, "an attempt to steer people away from the Superbowl...". I personally do admit that it was just that, and you can't blame them. TV now adays is a very competitive business, especially between the major networks.

1/28/02 Fear Factor has been pronounced one of "The Best Guilty Pleasure Shows" on E!'s tv show 'Rank'. It was 'Ranked' #11. Also on the list included Judge Judy(19), Passions(15), South Park(4), and the Jerry Springer Show(1).

1/20/02: NBC has announced that while the Superbowl is being aired on FOX, they will be airing a special "Playboy Edition" of Fear Factor. We can then gather that the show will be squeezed into a 15 minute time crunch. We will post a summary on here, as soon as the show has aired. More to be announced later.
