I’ve started feeling the baby kick and move almost all day now. Usually I used to
call Sathish to hurry up and get over to me so that he could feel it too. But by
the time he gets over to me, the show is over. And I think that has made him feel
sort of left out.
I reached the hospital at 1:50 p.m. The nurse Ms. Rosa Bera, gave me a special
glucose solution which tasted like orange soda pop. I finished drinking that at
2:05 p.m. and then met Dr. Brisinger. Again, it was all very quick.
He checked the baby’s heartbeat and told me that I am very normal and asked me
to come back in 4 weeks and meet Dr. Lurvey.
An hour later, by 3 0’ clock, I went down to the laboratory and my blood sample
was taken to check the blood sugar level.
Ms. Bera had initially told me not to eat or drink anything after drinking the
special glucose solution and till the blood sample was drawn. She also told me
that if the readings are abnormal, someone from the hospital would call me.
The next appointment is on 3rd June ’02 with Dr. Lurvey.
