Here at this page you will learn how to solve word problems using systems of equastions.  to solve a word problem using systems of equastions you need to find at least two equastions in the problem.  then solve as nessary.  You distribute all the number and then solve for "X" or "Y".
    The perimeter of a rectanglular field is 628m.  The length of the field exceeds its width by 6m.  Find the dimensions.

X=The length     Y=The width   X+Y=628    and        X=Y+6
(Y+6)+Y=628
2Y+6=628
2Y=622
Y=311
X+311=628
X=317

Here is the problem.

You make  the two equastions and start doing the math.
You make one equastion equal X and then do simple math.

After you finish the simple math you substitute the Y back in to the second page.
you do simple math for the second equastion.
