Why follow Yah'shua (Jesus)?

Whether we like it or not our existance didn't just happen by chanse. Our planet is not just floating aimlessly around in a meaningless universe. It was all very precisely planned, designed and created. This is backed up, not only by the many people who testify that they have encountered our creator, but also by the conclusions one must arrive at when studying our world and the universe.

Scientists have supported two major theories and looked for evidence for their respective assumption. One is called "the theory of evolution" which advocates that the universe had it's beginning in a big condenced mass that suddenly one day exploded and over a very long periond of time stars and planets were formed. Our planet, it maintains, was covered by a swamplike material in which life suddenly appeared, this lifeform gradually mutated into more complex beings and thus every species on our planet had it's beginning.

The problem with that theory is that it cannot be supported by anything we witness around us today. Mutations don't develop species into more complex beings, instead every matter that isn't maintained or built/created always developes into something less structured or complex. In fact one of the scientists who promotes the theory of evolution stated:

"Evolution is unproved and unprovable. We believe it only because the only alternative is special creation and that is unthinkable." (Sir Arthur Keith)

This brings us to the theory that has the current evidence in it's favour: "the theory of creation". Creationists claim that in the beginning there was a creator who made the universe and the earth and who made every living creature after it's own kind (Cats, dogs, flowers, trees, humans - in short every species). This is consistent with the fact that only matter that is made and maintained don't evolve into something less structured or complex.

There are many other facts that indicate that evolution of the species is impossible and creation is likely but I shan't go into it all here. For those who wish to make a proper study, please go to: Institute for Creation Research.

Now if we are agreed that we were created. Wisdom dictates that we ought to find out what our creator made us for. He tells us right from the start in the Bible where we learn how He made our solar system, the earth and every living thing on this planet:

When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man." (Gen 5:1-2)

Okay, so we are created to resemble Him! We had better find out what He is like then so that we can know how we are supposed to be. The first thing we are told is that He is a creator and that indicates that we are also supposed to create.

But first I wish to answer those of you who may wonder why we should do what He tells us to do just because He created us. It is because He isn't only a creator, but He is tender, caring and loving. When you read the Bible you will discover this about Him and then you will realise that the clock maker knows best how to keep the clocks running and on their own they are helpless. The good news is that our maker loves us and that makes all the difference.

Actually this states something else. Since we were made to resemble Him, we were all made to be good!

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus (Yah'shua) to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Eph 2:10)

So here then is our purpose:

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food." And it was so. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. (Gen 1:26-31)

Here we see another part of God, He is a ruler and He created us to be the same. The only problem is, if we rule badly instead of in the good way Yahweh (God) intended, instead of doing good we destroy! His creation is specific and needs a specific treatment, or else we loose more and more as it either gets ruined or rebels. If you abuse the earth, it stops giving crops; If you abuse your dog, it will turn against you; and so on..

In order to know how to rule well and do good, we need to turn to Yah'shua (Jesus) and learn from Him - it is that simple!
