Tara Fox

  • Tara Fox is a character I've been drawing and revising since 1995. She origionated as my role-playing persona for the Gargoyles fandom, but has undergone drastic changes over the years. Most of the art here is old, as I don't draw her frequently anymore. If there is some interest I will re-scan and post all my older pics of her.

  • Tho I rarely draw her anymore, she holds a special place in my heart, and the story of my life. She was created as I stepped into the disarray of my teenage years, becoming the vessil through which I associated with the world. Fierce, strong, sometimes consumed with rage, I lived those years as she would have lived (if trapped in a human's body). Eventually she became harmfull to me, and I underwent a period of transition and became myself, not her.

  • Today she is a reminder of my inner strength and the ability to overcome adversity. Strangely enough, her name (pronounced Tar-uh) is that of a Tibetan Goddess who is both compassionate and fierce. That I did not discover untill 2004.

  • Death of Tara. -I killed her off finally, tho not really. ;) Very bad Photoshop job, she looks burnt.

Unlikely Mother. -I decided that Tara had a child with her yautja lover (yautja is the true name of the Predator species). Strangely, this picture prompted many to ask me if I was pregnant... No I was not!!

Tara Crawling. -The first time I had drawn her in... maybe 2 years? No wings in this picture, was revising her somewhat.

Tara Fox. -Drawn the day before I started art school. She is conjuring and growing a new life.

Tara's Wings. -I decided that she would have raven's wings, as that is more fitting to my personality. This was done for an exercise in symmetry in school.

Tara & the Tarot Card. -An exercise in partial-symmetry this time. I forget what the sigils above her head say, I'll post them if I can find out.

Tara & the Samhain Lantern -Assymetrical balance this time. She is leading the souls of the dead into the next realm, upon the end of Samhain night. (Samhain is commonly known as Halloween.)

Sketches -Two quickie cketches, playing with her new design.

Tara Hugs! -Sketch that eventually became the concept of her sculpture.

  • I have a 3-dimensoinal figure of her on the Crafts page. Be sure to check it out!
