I remember when I was about seven years old, my Mum was looking through her music catalogue for some tapes. She asked me if I wanted one. I had a look but said I didn't know anyone!! She told me Cliff Richard was good, as was Shakin Stevens, so I bought a tape of each.
It's amazing how quickly I got into music after that! My Dad won a music tape in a competition on our local radio station. He gave it to me, but I didn't play it for ages because I thought it would be full of 'really old stuff'! (I must have been about eight judging by the copyright date on it!!) It was only a few years later that I first decided to play it as I tidied my room, that I realised the tape would have had a lot of stuff I knew on it and wouldn't have been all that old when Dad won it!! Been quite partial to that tape ever since, and it's one of my old favourites :)
