Thursday morning, we felt it was time to leave Loddon. Al and Ree said they had a friend with a big house who could probably help us out. They gave him a ring, and he came over to see us later that morning, taking us back to his place in his car.
Oh my! What was our reaction when we saw Kirby House?!? It was massive!!! (and I am by no mean over-reacting here!) Anyway, they said they'd bought it to do God's work, and boy were we thankful for that! (One of the other Streetlife people came to see us and took a photo of us to show how God can provide!!!)
That afternoon, we went for a walk down to the river, as there was seemingly no-one except for those who lived on the barges there. (By this point, we'd decided that a river mission would be a good idea - hiring a boat of some kind to tell people about God. What a vision!! ) We got talking to a couple of people, and even got to go on one person's boat to do so! He showed us around :)
That night, we all went into one of the lower rooms to spend some time with God. We thought about writing a song to recollect our journey so far. We did that all right! We only changed the words to one of the best worship songs, "Great is the Lord and Most Worthy of Praise" so that now, whenever we have to sing it anywhere, I have to try to stop myself laughing as I think of the mission version!! Then there was the one about how trees can clap their hands and Will going out with Jo! ("You Shall go out with Joy" to enlighten you all!)
We only stayed in Kirby Bedon one night due to the lack of people we could talk to. Then it was time to put on our back-packs again, and go walkies...
