Friday morning, we set out again on our journey. We walked seven miles along the B1140 until we reached Reedham. The church was easy enough to find, and I remember walking past a maize field on a slight hill to get to it. We found the vicarage, and were granted permission to stay in the church for as long as we needed to.

We had tea with the vicar and his wife, during which they enquired about what we wanted to do for breakfast. They said we could have toast and homemade jam. I asked what kind of jam it was. It was plum. My immediate reaction was to say, "Oh no! Not Plum jam!! Look what Plum jam did to my finger!!!!" (Only two weeks before going on mission, I'd made some plum jam. Some split on me as I poured it in the jars, and I got some nice slug-like blisters on my finger as a result! If you meet me, I can show you the scars if you like!!!) I got the nickname "Plummy" from this incident!

That evening we walked down to the river to see who was around. We got talking to one guy, and he told us about a disco that was happening. We decided to go and investigate, and tell people about God.

I decided that not many people were up for just talking, so I mixed with the people by dancing with them! Caused quite a stir, really!! That was one good night!!!

The team decided to be very cruel to me our first night in the church. They decided that if they barracaded the door of the chapel we were sleeping in by lying in front of it, I couldn't get up and out at what they considered an unearthly hour!!

We joined some people from the church for a prayer breakfast before we ate the next morning. It was an enjoyable start to the day :)

Later that morning, we were sitting in our 'room' talking about what we would do that day. We heard the outside door open, and people come in. They were visitors having a look around the church as visitors do! We lay as still as we could, frightened of what would happen if they decided to have a little look in our room where we sat like little hermits!! Luckily they never came in!!!

On the Sunday, the church were to conduct an outreach on the river. We agreed to help out. I remember us practicing a couple of Streetlife sketches. It went really well, and there was a good crowd. Think it was Jo who was asked to share the gospel with a couple of blokes! Gosh that river mission was good :)

One of the people from the church said she would do any washing for us that we wanted. I remember us getting it back all nice, clean and starched!! She also had a swimming pool which she let us use on the Monday. We stayed in Reedham until the Tuesday morning.
