Like I said, I was brought up to go to church and stuff, and so naturally assumed I was a Christian. It wasn't until me and my sister started to go to a Christian Youth group that things changed.

I didn't notice the difference in the youth, as I went out elsewhere the night the youth group was held, and went back for drink and biscuits! I sometimes got back in time for the bible study bit, and liked those times best of all :)

Anyway, the youth group leader was Rob May, a teacher at the upper school where my sis went at the time. She came home from school one day, and told Mum something. Mum asked if she was going to tell me too. She wasn't going to, but did anyway.

She told me she'd become a Christian. I was shocked to find out that we weren't already Christians, and so asked her about it. She said that she'd seen Rob at lunch-time, and said she wanted what the others had. She then went on to tell me that she asked God to forgive her sins, and ask Christ into her life. I thought I'd better do the same before people found I wasn't a Christian after all!!!

All seemed a bit hard at first, really. I asked Christ into my life, and kept on asking! That was until I went to another youth meeting, a prayer one this time, and the leader said in order to receive, you have to accept. It's no use keep on asking for a gift if you're not willing to receive it! I didn't ask any more after that night, and just accepted that he must be somewhere in my life!! It was about that time I realized I needed to be filled with God's spirit too, so I just asked! :)

Christ has evidently showed up in my life since then. I remember a time I denied going to a Bible study, saying I was just going round someone's for tea then. I haven't done anything like that since I became a Christian, and laugh at the way I used to be! Another thing that's changed, is as a child, I used to say I loved God, but I didn't really know him then. Since asking him into my life, and soon after asking him to fill me with his spirit, I've found a real love for God, and other people too!! I was a bit overwhelmed with this at first, but now it's just one of the best things in life, and I wouldn't have it any other way! :)
