I was so nervous about what lay ahead, that Friday night was like the night before Christmas! I was just so excited!! I couldn't wait to get to the great city of Sheffield which I've wanted to go to since I don't know when (-maybe the discovery of their ace footy team??) and knew the day would be good.
I woke up not knowing what I could wear, as I'd foolishly left all my shorts at home for the term. After at first trying on a red dress, I decided it might be chilly on the way there and I may have looked over-dressed, so I opted for a tee-shirt and my denim skirt instead, fearing I may get too hot, but thinking I could survive!
I almost arrived at Lorna's house before the designated time so she could take me, but then thought better of it as I know how much she lies her sleep!! I got there about five minutes early, after an hour or so of sitting in my room counting down the minutes!
The journey there was good. Lorna told me about a competition between her, her boyfriend, his family, and a few others. They have to look at car number plates, and see who's the first to get to 100 on the numbers they display! (I got as far as number 2 on the journey, and so decided to opt out of this little competition!!!!)
When we stopped so Lorna could get some food (due to a lack of breakfast!), I somehow managed to bump into her, making all the money spill out of her purse! Don't think the car waiting for us to pick up the money was impressed, but Lorna had told me to hurry up!
I couldn't believe it when we finally got to Sheffield! I loved it straight away! We went to Lorna's boyfriend's flat, and met his flatmates, some of who were to go to the concert with us. A couple of hours later, after eating and making food to smuggle in with us, we were off for what could be described as the tram journey of my life!
As I was to sit on my own, I said bye to the others and we arranged to meet afterwards outside the Red Gate. I was to spend the next seven hours looking like I was part of a crowd and not the Billy no mates I felt like!!!
