About Me

Originated from the Northern Region of Luzon, I was born in a native town of Batac, province of Ilocos Norte on July 13, 1954. My family and friends called me “Nanding “. My full name is Fernando Gamoy Duldulao. Both my parents came from the same province. I lived with my parents until I reached 18 years of age. My father already deceased was a simple farmer and my mother is a plain housewife. Our source of livelihood rely on agriculture mostly from yearly harvested crops like rice, tobacco, garlic, and vegetables. Though it was hard to earn a living, I’m very proud to say that my parents managed to send me to school until I finished my secondary level. After my graduation in high school, my father sent me to train in the military service. I was 18 years old then. Although I was hesitant to go because I still wanted to continue my studies in college, I couldn’t do anything but to follow their wishes and too young to be away from your love ones was a very difficult thing to do.I need to do something to help the family specially my sister who was already studying in college at that time. I had a hard time adjusting my life all alone but I had to. I was in a situation wherein one of the members of the family had to give way for the elder sister to finish first their studies then the next child will follow. I decided to work then, move on and look forward on the bright side of life, be contented and strive hard for my dreams to be fulfilled and let destiny decide my fate.
I entered the military service being a regular enlisted personnel on 16 January 1974. I had six months rigid training and was sent at once to southern island (Mindanao) to carry on my mission. I spent two years in the battlefield until I received orders from the higher command to recall us back to our mother unit in Luzon, the Home of Jungle Fighters stationed in Camp Capinpin, Tanay Rizal. It was at this time that opportunity knocked on my door. The military offered an advance military schooling where you are interested in like scout rangers, airborne, engineers and medics. I grab this chance, knowing that this might be the way to fulfill my dreams. I selected medics as my additional specialty. I took up medical aid man course for three months until I was ordered again to continue my service in AFPMC (Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center) stationed at V-Luna Hospital,Quezon City,Philippines. In V-Luna, I worked as an Orthopedic Technician in the military service, performing duties as plaster cast technician, assisting doctors in the operating room and dressing of wounds for those military personnel confined in the hospital.I worked at daytime regularly so I asked the permission of AFP Med. Director for a permit to study after office hours.Luckily my request was granted. I enrolled then in EARIST (Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology) taking up Electrical Engineering from 1976 to 1978. Unfortunately I was not able to finish my course.
During these missions I didn’t realize that time is passing by so fast. I felt that there was still something missing in my life since I am not getting any younger. So I decided to marry my wife who is the mother of my three grown up kids. After one year of marriage my ward nurse in the hospital informed me about the agency looking to fill the vacant Orthopedic technician post in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I applied for the job and luckily I was hired. I processed my papers and filed a dependency discharge as requirement from the military as standing operative procedure.I started my worked in Saudi from November 16, 1984 till November 16,1986 at King Fahd Military Hospital, Khamis Mushayt KSA.Two years later I was transfered to Medical Records Department as chart analyst and coding specialist. Looking forward for a greener pasture I sent my application to Tawam Hospital hired for the same position and here I am working as a Coding Specialist in the Cancer Registry, Radiotherapy Department. Another most important thing that blessed me is being a member of Web Design Class under the tutorship of Mr. Vic Candilanza Jr. a great chance to upgrade my knowledge in the field of information technology. Practicing this kind of assignment will trace how far I’ve gone through with my lesson.
Above all I owe all this blessings to God for he is always there to guide me in the right path. Now I realize that education is very important as it is the main key in reaching up my goals and dreams.
