As I write these words of blessings, Mom and Dad, I reflect on the many things you have meant to me. I reflect on the many things you did for me. I reflect on the many things you have inspired in me. Mom, you were the wind beneath my wings who taught me to fly up, up to the sky. Dad, you were the Rock of Gibraltar who taught me to establish my family on the Rock. I am who I am today because long ago you planted the seeds of love, hope, and strength deep in my heart and soul.

You both taught me the necessity of having personal faith in God the Father, through Jesus Christ the Son, and to live my life in the power of the Holy Spirit. You both taught me importance of education and wisdom. You both taught me the value of aiming for the stars. Mom, you said, "Aim for the stars but if you don’t reach the stars you will land on the moon." Dad, you said, "Always put God first place in your life." Now, look at where all your love, joy, peace, and long suffering have taken you and your children. You are a success and all your children are college educated, praising God, and positively contributing to society. All your blood, sweat, and tears have paid dividends. You did it because you believed in God, your family, your children, and yourselves.

So today on this your 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebration, Candice, George, Jr., Pauline and I lift our voices in praise of you. We praise you for your grace. We praise you for your compassion. We praise you for your consistency. We praise you for your dedication. We praise you because you never gave up, never said no, and never said die. You never gave up on us. You never said we couldn’t do it. You never said never. We want to Praise God for you both. Praise God, praise God, from whom all blessing flow! God bless you on your Golden Anniversary and forever!
