Suzy:
Kris, my grandon, and I went down the next morning to pick her up and she was a mess. We took her right to the vet's. While there he mentioned that she needed nails clipped, ears cleaned, and a bath. Which she got when we got home.
Very much a whippet variety, and weighs around 1.8 lbs. She doesn't gain or lose much weight. She will beg for food when I'm filling the dishes, if she's around. These first three are all Marshall Farms ferrets. The first two are the sweetest natured ferrets. She is the only one to prefer the Bandit Treats, in fact if she can get them out of the table she'll hide the whole box of them. She hasn't figured out how to open them, but at least she has them. She will take a raisin or a cheerio, but she hides them, comes back for more hoping it'll be a Bandit Treat the next time.
Suzy is a loner, although I find her sleeping with some of the others and sometimes playing with them, but she doesn't seem to be very close to any of them. Although, I think she might get close to Auggie, if I ever feel it's safe to leave him with the others.
One time, she spotted our beagle outside the screen door. She made quite a noise, between a hiss and a screech. It brought Banjo and Wendy on the double. And they were quite concerned when she had a reaction to the last of the distemper shots. She got two close together (a month apart) when we first got her. She got under the dryer and sounded like she could hardly breath. I was moving everything out of the way to get to her, and had to watch out for them as they were trying to get to her also. Needless to say, we made a fast trip back to the vet's after calling to say we were on our way. It was close to his closing time. Now she gets something to keep her from having a reaction.
She is my bottle thief and sometimes pop cans. The bottles can be any kind, even cleaning spray bottles. If she gets them, they end up under the couch, behind it, but most of the time, they're under the bed. That's where I can't get to very easily. Roger is going to cut a door in the foot of the frame, and make a door so I can clean up under there. There are many toys, bottles, clothes, and poop messes under there. I imagine that there are some shoes under there too. But not all of it is her doing, just the bottles.
Suzy has had a biting problem from the beginning. We haven't figured it out either. She goes for the bony areas such as wrists. Sometimes she seems to be trying to drag us off and others she just seems to enjoy biting. If I hollar "No" loud enough, she quits, but then comes back to try again. She doesn't draw blood, but it does hurt. I used to figure she just wanted attention, but even when I'm loving or playing with her, she still does it. Now I think she needs the attention every day. When I do that, the biting is less. Maybe she's just trying to remind me that she's still around. Somedays, I just don't get each one all the love they need. It's hard to do when I work all day, and have so much to do in the evenings.
She does enjoy helping with the laundry, and even tries to get in the washer when I'm loading it. She is quite a climber, and gets on the table a lot. She is also the only one to try to scratch a hole in the dryer vent tubing. She doesn't try to get out of the house, but has on two occassions. Once when all three females were out, and the second time Brandon (dumb ass attack) put her down outside. She went straight under the steps. It takes someone else to help me get one out of there. I can't lift them, and reach under it at the same time.
She is the only one to get under the frig. She lays totally flat, and with her legs out to the side, kind of swims under there. Once or twice, I've had to take the front air grill off to get her out from under there. Usually she gets out on her own.
She'll put up with kisses, but doesn't return any. She'll put up with belly rubs, and hugs, but doesn't seem to be thrilled about any of it. She doesn't like to be held. As I said, she loves the Bandit Treats, and when she stands at my feet and looks right at me, I know what she wants. She doesn't like anything to drink except water.
