The FFA gives its members the opportunity to learn an occupation, increase communication skills, travel
and demonstrate responsibility. The FFA has an extensive award program at all levels. Below is a list of
incentives and awards that are available to FFA members.
Advanced degrees of membership :
- Greenhand FFA Degree--lowest degree, is awarded at the local level
- Chapter FFA Degree--highest degree that is awarded at the local level
- State FFA Degree--highest degree that is awarded at the state level
- American FFA Degree--highest degree attainable, awarded nationally
Other Opportunities and Awards Available:
- Achievement in Volunteerism--recognizes members that lead efforts in community development
- "Up With Agriculture" writing contest
- Agriscience Awards--scholarships are given to students that develop outstanding agriscience
programs.
- Proficiency Awards--awarded to students that excel in their SAE; there are more than 30 areas in
which to compete
- Scholarships--over $1,000,000 is awarded for FFA members that wish to attend an institution of
higher learning
- Star Awards--the most outstanding members are awarded at each degree level
- Skill Competitions--students use their skills and classroom instruction in a competitive setting.
- There are more than 20 Career Development
Events (CDE) ranging from agricultural mechanics to public speaking.
