[1stPage] [My Computer] [!Virus Writers!] [Color Tables] [Learning HTML] [Graphics Primer] [Rantz'n'Ravz] Text, Link, and BGCOLOR Comparisons3rd Version? This is my third attempt at comprehensive text, link, and BGCOLOR comparisons. If your browser has the ability to view JavaScript, this table might come in handy for you. I apologize for the bugs that are still on this page, like the fact that some text/link colors cannot be compared to some BGCOLORs, at least without some judicious scrolling. I'm thinking about it. ![]()
Hello again! Some might wonder why I used a decent 58k of my limited GeoCities' directory in order to put this page on the Internet. Well, I guess that "Necessity is the Mother of Invention" does indeed apply. This page, and all of it's previous versions, came about because I was tiring of typing and re-typing different text, link, alink, vlink and BG colors just to find the right 'look' for pages. Because I'm sparing with my usage of background images (in order to conserve space...), I needed every advantage possible to create the proper *dazzle* (some will argue that I haven't yet achieved it...). So, I got busy figuring out how to visualize a page, it's text, links, and BG colors, without 'filling in the blanks' each and every time. Well, it seems that I've created something that I can use, so, I wanted to let everyone use this time-saving opportunity too. First, however, I want to forewarn you that 'color names' might not be compatible with certain Internet browsers; although I haven't located, nor have been told, the names of specific browsers so afflicted. If it comes down to it, really, I don't mind that none of these colors are viewable in Lynx, a text-only browser, but, as long as color names don't crash it, other browsers can gain from the added color(s)! Another question that I've received wondered why I didn't also have Hex or RGB colors listed. Well, although Hex and RGB colors might, perhaps, be supported by the larger number of browsers that are available, Hex and RGB color combos are darned difficult to remember without opening another window or file so that one can look them up. I 'found' most of these color names through trial and error, which, I'd hazard to guess, are better than I'd do trying to pick a 6 numbered and/or lettered color out of thin air!
