Part 6

She walk into the shop with a smile, “Mother dawn.”
“hi, Nin, what was the result?”
“I’m fine mother dawn. So far no sign of it yet.”
“that’s good. I have something to tell you.”
“go ahead?” as she set her purse down and went to pick up a Azalea to water it.
“Your mom came in today?”
She looked up from the plant. “What did she said?”
“She asked about you and wonder where you were?”
“With her husband or by herself?”
“Herself.”
“So...” said nin. “There is no point of telling her that I’m alive. Just make up some crap about me. I don’t want her in my life no more. She’s the meanest mother ever alive.”
“Nin, she’s your mother?”
“My mother is dead. She could never be in my life again, after all these years of suffering and going through leukemia without comforting me.” said nin, watering the plant. “If she ever come again, by herself. Tell her that her daughter died. Don’t tell her that I’m her daughter.”
“Nin.” said mother dawn
“Mother dawn. Now I’m fighting for my life, I don’t think i want to deal with my mother trying to hided me from her so call family. I don’t want to be a third person. If my mom love me, she would have told her husband that she had a daughter in the orphan’s house 16 years ago. She would have came back for her daughter and give her all the love she needed during her treatment.”
“Nin. I understand how you feel. But no matter what, she’s your mother. the mother that give birth to you.”
“But that mother died, after she left her daughter in the orphan’s house 16 years ago, letting her suffer all by herself with no one, but a man, she called father or god father.” She put the plant on its original place, “The only one that loves me are you, mother kana, mae, and my god father. I don’t care about my mom. She hates me with all her heart that she just have to get rid of me.”
“don’t said that. a mother will love her child very much.”
“Not the mother that i know. The mother that love her daughter died 16 years ago.”
“Don’t say that Nin. She love you very much... its just that she doesn’t have time to tell them the truth that she had a daughter. One day, she’ll tell them the truth that you are her only daughter. Then nothing will come between mother and daughter.”
“That day, is the day that I leave the world behind and go on with my life in a new world, where i won’t have to suffer this much.”
“Nin, don’t say those word. You never know the future. Until that day. Don’t think too much. Alright.” said mother dawn.
“I’ll try.” was all that nin said.

“Hello, International trade company. How can I help you?”
“Is Yatchai in the building?”
“may I ask who this is?”
“Mimi, his girlfriend.”
“oh, sorry he is not. He said that he went to the flower shop by the orphan’s place to get his mother some green plants.”
“Oh thanks.”

Yatchai look at Nin’s every move.
Nin turn around and look at him, “What are you staring at? Have a staring problem?”
“No, not at all, just looking how you are treating the plants i want to buy.”
nin stand up and look at him, “Ok, Yatchai, tell me which plant you want. I don’t have all day to serve you.”
Yatchai just laugh, “ok, i’ll just buy these one,” pointing at the Fern and the Jade plant.
“anything else?”
“So that you can kick me out?”
“yeah.” replied Nin.
“That’s not how you are suppose to treat your customer.”
“I don’t care.. if you don’t like it, go to a different one. I’m not stopping you go to different one.”
“ok...ok.” as he give her a teasing smile. “You are mad at me huh and hate me right?” as he lend over the counter.
“maybe...and i guess that’s my problem.”
“Do you hate me? honestly?”
She give him a look, “why?”
“cause it seen like you hate me really much for somewhat reason and you hate my mother huh?”
She look away, “I don’t know.” She turn back to face him, “Anyways that will cause you 1528 bahts. Anything else you want?”
“no thank you. my mother will love these.”
“Good for her. I don’t care.”
“Why you say that?”
“nothing. Not that i hate her. or anything. Its just that...” she didn’t finish the sentence. She give him, his change. “thank you very much, come again.” as she walk to get another plant.
Yatchai follow her, “you didn’t tell me, why you say that?”
She sigh, “someday, you’ll understand what i meant. Until then... let just go with the flow.”
“why?”
“its hard to explain. someday, when a mother come for her sick daughter, it’ll be too late and... everyone will know what i mean.”
Yatchai stand there clueless of what she is saying...

“Chai.” said Mimi as she enter the house.
Yatchai look up from the counter, where he is sitting down. “Hi, Mimi. What brings you here this afternoon?”
She walk toward him, “where were you at lunch, I was gonna call and ask if you want to have lunch with me today. But you were not there.”
“Sorry.” he hand her the plant. “I bought you this from the flower shop near the orphan’s place, like it.”
“ah.. its so beautiful.” said Mimi, as she smells the plant. “Thank you, Chai, what kind of plant is it?”
“Fern.” replied Chai.
Pinipa walk in, “Wow, those plants are so beautiful.”
“Aunt, Chai bought me this Fern plant.” said Mimi
“Mom, I bought you this Jade Plant.” said Chai, handing her the plant.
“Thanks Chai.” said Pinipa.

Mae, knock on the door of Nin’s room. She had came back to Thailand and is visiting Nin. She slowly open the door to her room.
Nin turn around, “Mae, come in.”
Mae close the door, “What’s wrong. You seen worry of something. Tell me. I want to help you out.”
Nin went to sit down on her bed, “There is nothing you can do. Life it too tough, I only know what yesterday is not tomorrow, I only know that I have fight for my life for so long. I don’t know how long I’m gonna live. I don’t know if I’m gonna died today or tomorrow.”
Mae went and sat next to her, “Don’t said that. You are gonna win the next battle, you did that once and you’ll do that again.”
Nin look down on her bed, “Mae (looking up at her) Life is full of surprised. I make not know what today will bring.”
“I know” took both her hand, “But don’t worry, they always said that good always beat bad. You’ll beat it.”
“I hope.” replied Nin. “Will you go to the shop with me tomorrow morning.”
“Yes, I would love it. Wanna see how your shop is so far.” replied Mae, hugging her friend. “Always remember that you can always count on me 24/7.” Nin pull away and nodded.
Mae, wipe her tears away. “Nin, don’t waste your tears on some non-important things.”

Part Seven

nin walk out, “wow, mae, you go girl.”
“Thanks.” said mae
its had been a month now, chai haven’t see nin or talk with her, she had avoiding him for the longest time. life seen endless to him, “nin...” he said to him, why, must you do that to me.” said chai

“remember to call and tell me about the next result alright.” said mae
nin nodded, “I will.” as she wave good bye to her friend.

Nin walked out of the air port with a little light headache... But she didn’t even bother to figure what’s wrong with her, thinking maybe because she and Mae stayed up too late last night.

“Mother Dawn.” she said as she walked into the shop, “What’s up?”
“Nothing, just checking how the shop is doing...what are you up to??? Seen like you look sick.”
“I’m not sick, its from last night.” replied nin.
“Ok... remember you have to go to the hospital whenever.”
“I know.”
Pinipa walked in, “Why don’t you invite Nin to have dinner with us tonight.”
Chai looked up, “I don’t know. I want to talk with her and ask her what’s wrong, why she’s avoiding me and what did Mimi said to her, but her lousy friends wouldn’t let me talk with her at all.”
Pinipa pat Chai on the shoulder, “That’s why you should go and asked her to talk with you. Chai, ask her to have dinner with us. And you can talk with her and try to make her understand everything and tell her that you are sorry for what Mimi said to her.”
“Yeah, son. go ahead and ask her for dinner. I wanna see her too. What make my son wanna to her shop and buy lots of flowers to decorate our house, when we don’t need it.” said his father.
“Dad.” said Chai, turning around to face his father.
“go ahead Chai. Your mother agree. too.”
“Or, if you want, I can go ask her.” said Pinipa.
“Would you, mom?” said Chai
She nodded, “Sure”
“Call and let me know alright.”

Pinipa walked into the shop, Nin was arranging the flowers in a vase. Pinipa watched as she did that, she wanted to ask if its her daughter, but decided not to. “um...”
Nin turned around, “Can I help you?”
“Ninda right?”
Nin nodded, “but people don’t call me that, they call me Nin. Please call me Nin, don’t call me Ninda.”
“ka.” answered Pinipa. As she went to pick up a vase of flowers
“can I help you Mrs. Pinipa?”
She don’t want to ask it, but feel that she should. “um... are you busy tonight?”
“Why?” asked Nin?
“Because I would like to have dinner with you at my house and would like to invite you to meet my family.”
Nin was surprised. She felt bad and stupid she wanted to scream, who do you think I am. I don’t want to meet your family. But manage to control those hurtful words and look at her, “Thank-you, but as the owner of this shop, I don’t have time to have dinner with anyone.”
“Nin?” said Pinipa. “Just once?”
“I’m sorry, Mrs. Pinipa. I can’t have dinner with you and your family. Maybe next time. No, I don’t think I have the time to meet you or your family. You can always go and invite that Mimi, your future daughter in law.”
Pinipa was all quiet.
“Besides that, I heard that you were affected with my words the first time you came in my store, about me saying about a mother that left her daughter there and promised to come back for her, but didn't. that mother only care about her fame and crap. Is it true?” Nin walked in front of Pinipa, “you know it's true for all of us at the orphan’s house. If a parents that left their kids there and promised to come for them, but didn’t that mother or father is the meanest parents on earth. That parents should all go to hell. Am I right?” turning to face her.
Pinipa looked at the floor, don’t know what to answer. “I don’t know.”
“You should know, you are a mother, aren’t you? If you left your son, Chai there, would you feel the same? Do you think he’ll feel the same or do you think, he will be happy, just being there. Not near his parents and get all the loves he needed. But all the tears and all the bad treatment from other strangers? If you were at the orphan’s house when you were young you would understand. Pinipa, am I right. do you believe me that if a parents left their child there, they would be the meanest parents on earth?”
Pinipa standing there, wanted to cry out, and tell her to stop, but manage to hold on her tears and the hurtful words.
“I guess you don’t know too. Its alright. I’ll asked some other people. They will know. I can also asked myself too someday in my future.” said Nin, looking at her mother. “Please don’t take this as a thing of me hating you. I don’t hate you and will never hate you. That’s how I feel. I just have to express it out to someone. No hard feeling alright.”
Pinipa nodded. “I’ll understand. I mean maybe it's true, that’s why you know.”
“Anyways, sorry that I can’t come. Maybe whenever I’m free.”
Pinipa nodded, “I should be going now.” and left crying to herself.

Mother Kana walked in, “Nin..”
Nin turned to look at her, “yeah?”
“how could you said that to her?”
“To who? to Pinipa. Why not.”
“don’t you know who she is?”
“The mother that left me here and let me suffer by myself for the longest time.” she turned around to look at the door, “I’ll never forgive that mother. I hate her forever.”
“Nin.” said Mother kana, took a hold of Nin’s hand, “Everyone makes mistake. There is forgive and forget. It's your mother. You’ll have to forgive her for leaving you here. She is asking about you?”
“Since when??? Now??? as I heard. I will hate her until the day I died.”
“Don’t said that. You’ll regret what you say, after something bad happen. I don’t want you to regret later.”
Nin pulled her hand free from mother kana, “I won’t regret. She’ll be the one regretting for leaving me and let me suffer.” as she felt her forehead pounding and the pain continue to hurt.
“Nin...Nin... are you alright?”
Nin stopped mother kana, as she come closer toward her, “I’m alright. Just some light headache, don’t worry about me.” “Are you sure? You should go see your doctor.”
Nin nodded, “Not enough sleep. I promise.”
mother kana just nodded her head, thinking then its more then a light headache from not enough sleep.

Part Eight

Pinipa walked into the living room, Chai walked toward her, “Mom, what did she said? Is she gonna come?”
“She said that she don’t have the time to have dinner with us. She’s busy with her stuff.”
“oh.” replied Chai, as his smile started to fade away.
“Maybe you can go ask her Chai.” said Pinipa.
“I will when I have time.” and walked back to where he was sitting.
As he sat on his desk thinking of what his mother said to him, he could see how her expression was. As if she had cried. “Nin, don’t let me know that you have said something hurtful to my mother.”
The thought of her wouldn’t get out of his mind, so he decided to go over to her shop and talked with her.

With a glass of water and 2 pills, Nin swallow it, hoping to get the pain out of her head. It had been a week since the headache and its getting worst and worst. She doesn't know what to do. All she knows is it's killing her.
“P’Nin, are you sure, you are alright?” asked Pat, leaning on the counter.
“I’m alright, just some light headache, so how is your day selling flowers, getting luck or not?” replied Nin turning around to face him.
“Not really, what’s wrong with you?”
“what do you mean?”
“I’m alright. I don’t feel sick.”
“But you look sick.”
“Like how?”
“I don’t know.” replied pat. “But, you do look pale and sick to me.”
She laughed, “right.” She put the bottle of pill down and look at Pat, “So how is your luck today?”
“Not good.”
“why, what’s wrong?”
He handed her the money, “someone stole some from me, when I was selling it and they give me the money.”
“It’s alright. Are you ok? If you are ok.. that’s the point. I don’t want you to get kill for chasing after them.”
“So you are not mad at me?”
“why should I? I don’t want you to get kill.”
“Thanks.” said Pat.
“No problem. don’t get yourself kill again.” joke Nin
“And don’t get sick too.”
“I won’t” replied Nin. Getting sick... I can’t be sick. thought Nin.

Chai was waiting for Mimi at the restaurant, he wanted to asked her what did she said to Nin. I want to know the reason why she did.
“Sorry, that I’m late”
“Its alright, Please be sit down.”
Mimi sat across from him, “What is it that you want to talk with me about?”
Chai look at her, “What would you like, please order and we can talk about it.”
“ka.” replied Mimi
After their food came, Chai looked at Mimi and Mimi looked at him, she was smiling at her, “Ok, can you tell me what is it that you want to talk with me?”
“About Nin.” replied Chai. “you know what I mean right.”
Mimi nodded.
“Mimi, you know that we have been together for so long and I was thinking... that we should be friends. I mean, you know things change right...”
Mimi’s heart sunk, she can’t believe what she just heard. “Chai, but I...I love you with all my heart.”
“I...don’t know what to tell you Mimi.” said Chai, “I love Nin.”
“I knew it, its her that’s why you dumped me. right. Tell me?”
“No...Yeah.. But why did you yell at her?”
“Oh, that’s the reason why? Huh, I knew it, the first time I say her,” yelled Mimi.
Chai tried to shut Mimi up, but she kept yelling and yelling.
“If I don’t get you, no one will. That’s a threat from me to you, Chai. and remember to tell that girl of yours that she should be careful.” yell Mimi and walk out of the restaurant.

Chai looked down at his plate, “What have I done? Getting Nin into this mess.” He ran his finger through his hair and then paid for the food and left the restaurant.
He swing his jacket over his shoulder, as he got out of his car, going home, “What have I done.” He kept repeating to himself over and over again.
He walked into the living room, “Chai, what’s wrong?” asked his father
“nothing, just thinking of work.” he lied
“You know, you are not a good lier, Chai” said Pinipa “Tell me and your father what’s wrong?”
“It;s Mimi. She threated to do something bad to Nin.” Chai finally admit it. “What am I suppose to do now?”
“Tell Nin to be careful, she’ll understand. Go to her shop and tell her that she should be careful. Tell her that, Mimi, might try to hurt her.” said Pinipa

Part Nine

Chai went and sat on the couch, "I guess. Its better than losing her."
"Good idea, Pin" said Chai’s father
"Thanks mom and dad." said Chai.

"Are you sure, you are feeling good?" asked the nurse.
Nin nodded, "100% sure, Nurse. I feel alright."
"that great to hear."
"anyways when can i come for the result?"
"Maybe tomorrow or we can call you soon."
"ok" replied Nin "may I go now?"
"yes. We will call you when we get the result back. But remember, any sign, come right back. And we will treat you right away."
"ka" replied Nin

Chai was waiting for her, when he saw her coming through the door, he rushed to her, "Where have you been?"
She looked at him, "That's my problem, don't need to worry about it. what brings you here today? Can I help you with anything?"
"Yes. I want to talk with you privatly. is it possible?"
"I don't know. What is it?"
"Nin. We have to talk."
"But I don't want to talk. Tell me if it's worth my time or not."
"Nin. We have to talk about you and your safey."
"What safey?" said Nin. "Tell me."
"Nin. somewhere else."
Nin walked toward the counter, "What don't you and your mother understand. I said that I don't have time."
He walked toward her, "I don't care. Nin. You have to talk with me."
She sigh, "Please, not now. I'm so sick and tired of you and your mom. Please don't bother me."
he grabbed her arm with that remark. "Give me a reason why?"
"There is no reason." as she pulled free.
"There is a reason. And I want to know that reason. I also want to know why you are avoiding me since your friend was here. Tell me?" as he grabbed her arm again.
She once again, pulled her arm free, and moveed away, "That's my problem, not yours. Move away from me. Don't come near me. I hate you, I really do."
He moved closer to her, "I don't care about that, I love you is all I care."
She was surprised, but pretend to look like she don't are, "I don't care, Chai. Go home and don't come back." and turned away.
"Fine, if you really hate me that much, I'll go, but remember what I told you, but better be careful."
She turned around, "Why should you care about me? You're not my father. You don't need to care about me."
"So." and left the store.

Couple days later, as Nin was putting the vase of flowers away, Chai came back, "You have to come with me."
She turned around, "Why? What will you do, if I don't?"
"I'll make you." as he went and grabbed her arm and pulled her out the shop.
"Stop, stop" she shouted for him to let her go.
But he wouldn't stop until they got to his car. He let go of her, "Go in."
"No." she replied.
"Do you want me to carry you in? In front of all these people?"
She look around and slowly get in his car.

He drove to his house, "This is my house, welcome."
She looked away, "I don't want to come to your house."
"Will too bad, do you want to come out or want me to carry you" as he was standing by her door.
She looked at him, "I can walk." and got out.

When they walked in, they were both greeted by Chai's parents.
Trying to be rude, Nin didn't care. She just looked away and didn't care.
"So you must be Ninda, the girl that own a flower shop right?"
She just nodded at Chai's father
"my wife and son really like your shop. Mind if I be one of the sponsor for your shop?"
"Thanks for your kindness, but my shop don't need a sponsor. I believe I'm strong enough to keep my shop going. Besides, my dad is still alive. But thanks though."
He smiled, "no problem, but if you need help let me know and I'll help you all I could."
"I'll remember that."
Pinipa looked at her, without saying a word, could this be my daughter? she thought to herself no it might not.
"mom." said Chai
"yeah, son?"
"Are you gonna say anything to her?"
"I don't know what to say.

Part Ten

At the dinner table that night, Pinipa was scooping food into, Nin's plate, which Nin didn't feel like eating at all. She looked up from her plate, when Pinipa scoop some fried chicken soup into her plate, "You know, you don't have to be nice to me."
"But you are my guest. I want to treat all my guest good."
"So. You don't have too, I mean, it's not like I don't have anything to eat and want you to feed me. My mom don't even care. you don't have to. You are not my mom and I don't need you to feed me."
Chai and his father looked up at her, "Nin, don't said that." Chai whispered
Nin turned to look at him, "I'm just saying to truth. I said that to all the people that are being nice to me." she lied.
"It's ok, Chai. I understand her." said Pinipa
"Mom..." said Chai
Nin looked at her watch, "I should be going now, my friend is gonna call me soon."'
"You mean your friend Mae? That crazy girl with no feeling?"
Nin looked at him, "She's not crazy and she has feeling, not like you."
"Ok..Ok..whatever." said Chai
"Thanks for dinner, I should be going now."

As she walked out, it started to rain really hard. "What the hell is wrong with the sky today." she cussed.
Chai followed after, "I'll give you a ride home."
"it's ok. I can bare with it." and ran into the rain.
"Nin..." yelled Chai and followed after her
She could hear him calling her, but she refused to listen, but ke[t running. As her headache begin to come again
Chai caught up to her, "Are you crazy." He grabbed her.
"No...Let me go." and tried to pull free. As she used the other hand to help free her other arm.
Chai grabbed both of her arm, "Do you want to get sick to death?" he shake her.
"That would be fine with me." she replied. As she felt dizzy and felt like her strength is dying.
The last word she heard was...Chai calling her name.

~~~~~~~DREAM~~~~~~~~~~
She was standing at the entrance of the orphan's house. It was a very stormy night. "Nin, Why aren't you asleep?" asked mother Kana She turned around, "I'm waiting for my mom." She turned to look outside again, "See, she's right there." pointing to the figure standing at the door. "Nin, my daughter" said the figure.
Nin ran and hugged her, "mom, is that you, are you really here to pick me up?"
Her mother shook her head, "I'm here to say I'll be back for you again."
"Why." she begin to cry. "Why mommy, don't you love me?"
"yes, I do, I have to go to work my daughter. I promised to come back for you." as she pulled away
"Mom...don't go. don't you love me. Don't go." she try to run after
~~~~REALITY~~~~~~

"Mom...don't go. don't you love me. Don't go." she cried out. "don't go. don't leave me.. Mom. Don't go."
Chai went over to her with a wet cloth and wiped her with it. "Nin..."
As Nin felt his hand, thinking it's her mother, she went and hugged him, "Mom, don't go. don't leave me." as she make herself comfortable in Chai's chest.
Chai lean down and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "I'm not gonna leave you, Not like your mother."

The next morning, when She woke up the next day, she looked around the room. "Where am I?" she asked herself.
The door opened and walked in, Pinipa, "Good morning, Nin. Did you have a nice rest?"
She didn't answer, but just nodded. "um...Why was I here?"
"Last night, you fainted. So...that's why you were here. What happen last night?" interrupted Chai walking in.
"Nothing. Why?" she replied, And got up, "I should be going now. I have to open the shop this morning." as she was about to get up. But her phone ring. She went and answer it, "Hello, Nin."
"Nin, please come to the hospital now."
"is there a problem?"
"yes. about your test yesturday noon."
"What's wrong with it?"
"your cancer. It had return."
She was surprised. And shock at the same time. "Ar...are you sure its mine?"
"I'm pretty sure... unless you want to test again."
"That would be great. When should I come?"
"The sooner the better."
"Ok. thanks. I'll be there soon." She hung up and sighed, please, don't come back. she heard herself praying it.
"What's wrong?" asked Chai
"um...nothing. I should be going." and went to the bathroom and change.
