Chapter Eight

In the middle of the night, JC's eyes fluttered open and he didn’t know where he was. He lifted his head tiredly and noticed that Lonnie and the guys were snoring lightly as they were past out on the couches and the trundle bed. He looked down at Sydney who was sleeping soundly next to him. He smiled softly as he lightly caressed her cheek with the back of his hand.   Sydney smiled slightly and sighed at his touch as she turned her body and snuggled to the warmth he provided. JC rested his head on his arm as he watched her sleep. She looked so peaceful and he hated waking her up, but they needed to retire to the bed. “Syd,” he said softly as he pushed a strand out of her face. “Wake up, sweetie.”
She moaned in protest and snuggled closer to him. “Hmm?”
JC sighed as he put an arm around her and buried his face in her neck. He kissed her neck and felt her tremble at his touch. “Syd, we have to go upstairs,” he murmured against her skin.
She didn’t respond. “Okay, Syd,” he said as he slowly scooped her in his arms and lifted her up.
“JC?” she asked shakily as she opened her eyes.
“Hey,” he said softly as he pushed her and cradled her like a baby.
“What are you doing?” she asked as he carried her up the stairs.
“I’m taking you to bed,” he said as leaned over and kissed her temple.
She sighed as she rested her head on his shoulder. “Okay.” She laughed softly. “I feel like Scarlet.”
He paused at the middle of the stairs. “Am I as dashing as Rhett?”
She laughed as she looked up at him. “Well, you don’t have the dashing mustache, but you’re pretty damn close.”
He chuckled as he continued to walk up the stairs. “You don’t think I’d look good in a mustache?”
She shook her head. “No, I’ve seen you in a goatee, and I must say I do like that. But not a mustache.”
“You like the scruff, huh?” he teased as they walked into the bedroom.
“Hmmm, very much,” she sighed as he put her lightly on the bed.
“Then I won’t shave in the morning,” he told her as he pulled back the covers.
“Good,” she said and then snuggled under them and laid her head on the pillow.
He crawled over her and then stretched out in front of her. She was on her side smiling at him and he couldn’t help but smile back. His eyes travel to her lips and saw that they were half open, waiting for his caress. He lifted his hand and ran her fingers over her lips and he shivered when she kissed it lightly. His eyes lifted and they met hers briefly before he looked down at her lips once more.
Her breath quickened as his head leaned slowly toward hers. “Sydney,” he breathed against her lips and then softly touched his lips with hers. It was so soft it was like a whisper. He hovered over her lips as he shifted her until she was on her back and he was over her. “I told myself I was going to let you have your space,” he said huskily. “I shouldn’t kiss you.”
She lifted and cupped his face with her hands. “But you and I both know your going to anyway.”
He nodded as the corner of his mouth lifted. “Yes, I am.”
“What are you waiting for,” she said as she lifted her head off the pillow. “Kiss me.”
“Glady,” he groaned and he leaned down and crushed his lips against hers.
She sighed as she plunged her fingers in his brown hair and pulled him down on top of her. He released his weight on his elbows and relaxed his body against hers. She sighed his name as his body pressed her against the mattress, and he responded by turning his head and prying her lips open with his tongue.
Her hands roamed his back as he continued to drug her with his clever mouth. He nibbled at her lips and then skimmed his mouth down her jaw and nuzzled her neck. “Syd,” he sighed as he pressed his lips against her neck and then lightly bit her neck.
She shivered at the touch. “JC, I…”
He swallowed her words as his mouth devoured her once more. He kissed her over and over again, only stopping to breath her name or praise her on how beautiful she was. He deepened the kiss as he rolled with her over the bed; the covers tangled around them. He stopped when she was sprawled on top of him and he ran his hands up her back and clutched a handful of her hair as he tasted her once more.
He nibbled at her lips and sucked on her bottom lip before he finally pulled away. He looked up at her; they were both breathing heavily and her lips were swollen from his anxious kisses. “Sydney, what just happened,” he said breathlessly.
She sighed as she rested her cheek against his chest and his chin rested on the top of her head. “I don’t know,” she finally said. “But I’m glad it happened.”
He sighed as well as he pulled the covers over them. He kissed the top of her head. “Me too. Good night, Syd.”
She leaned up and planted her lips where his pulse was beating against his throat. “Good night, JC.”

JC and Sydney both giggled quietly as they stepped out of their rooms early the next morning. “This is gonna be good,” she said as she chuckled.
“Who should be our first victim?” JC asked as he rubbed his hands together. It was pay back time baby, and he was ready.
“Let’s do Joey,” she said with an evil grin. “He was extra obnoxious when he woke us up.”
“Joey it is,” he chuckled. “It’s a shame poor Georgia has to be suckered into this.”
“She’ll live,” she said as they walked up to the door.
“Wait first things first,” he said and then pulled her into his arms and kissed her softly on the lips. He lingered there and moaned slightly before pulling away. “Okay, now I’m ready.”
“Warn me next time,” she said as she fanned herself.
He just chuckled and then they slowly opened the door and popped their head in. Joey and Georgia were still sleeping, and they were so close to each other, it looked like there was one big hump under the covers instead of two little humps. JC peered over them and noticed she was curled up to his side while he was passed out on his back. One leg was peeking out of the covers and it dangled from the side of the bed.
Her head was resting against the crook of his shoulder and her fingers were linked with his and rested their joint hands on his belly. “They look so cute I almost don’t want to do this,” Sydney said.
JC eyed her. “Don’t back out on me now, Syd.”
  She grinned. “I said ‘ALMOST’.”
He gave her a wink and then they both leaped on the bed and started jumping up and down. “RIIISE AND SHIIINE AND GIVE GOD THE GLORY GLORY!” JC started singing as he started to shake the bed with his feet.
Joey groaned as he pulled the covers over their head. “For the love of God, stop!”
Georgia whimpered tiredly as the bed began to shake. “I didn’t do anything wrong!” Georgia complained. “Why are you punishing me?”
“Sorry, girl,” Sydney said as she jumped up and down. “Couldn’t avoid you since your practically attached to the uh…ahem…hip I guess you would say.”
“Very funny,” she said as she threw her pillow at her.
Sydney laughed as she caught it. “Okay, JC, on to Lance and Michele’s room.”
JC leaped off the bed and landed on the ground and Sydney jumped off behind him and they started to yell as they went charging in their room. Joey cursed softly as he collapsed his head on the pillow. “Damn him,” he mumbled and then turned to her and pulled her close. “My most humble apologies.”
“Mmm-hmm,” she mumbled and then buried her face against his chest. “Sleep is good. Let’s go back to sleep.”
He grinned as he pushed her curly hair away to reveal her bare neck. “Yeah, sleep is good,” he said and then leaned down and gently bit her neck. “But this is more fun.”
She shivered. “Jooeey, don’t tempt me,” she said tiredly.
“Tempt you?” he whispered innocently in her ear and then captured her ear with his mouth and gave it a tug. “Who’s tempting?”
“Certainly not me,” she said as she closed her eyes and turned her head to the side to give him better access.
“Oh, you’re very tempting my dear,” he said and then shifted her on her back. “Very tempting.”
“Shut up and kiss me,” she laughed as she reached around him and clutched his hair at the nape of his neck.
“You don’t have to ask me twice,” he said and then pressed his lips against hers.
“Woah shit,” JC laughed as he quickly closed the door to avoid the pillow Michele threw at his head. When it hit the door, he opened it and poked his head in. “Love you too, babe.” Michele responded by throwing another pillow and JC laughed as he closed the door again.
“I’m gonna kill that pretty boy,” Michele said angrily. “He better watch it on the slopes today.”
Lance let out a tired groan and pulled her to him. “I think I’m a little tired for skiing today,” he mumbled as he buried his face against the back of his neck.
“Too tired?” she asked as she turned her head towards him. “What do you suggest we do if we don’t go……” She stopped when she saw his evil grin. “Oh, I gotcha. You know,” She coughed. “I’m not feeling very good.”
“Aww, poor thing,” he said with a chuckle and then turned her until she was facing him. “Looks like I’m going to have to stay in and take care of you.”
“Hmm,” she grinned and then kissed him softly. “Have anything to make me feel better?”
“A little Lance lovin’ will do the trick,” he said and then leaned down and kissed her neck.
“I’m already feeling better,” she said and then they both laughed when they pulled the covers over them.
An hour later JC and Sydney were downstairs ready for the day. They were roaming the kitchen, pulling out things out of the cupboards or the refrigerator. At one time, JC closed the refrigerator door and turned and bumped lightly into Sydney who was making her way too the fridge.
Her hands were full, holding an apple in one hand and a carton of OJ in the other. So he took advantage of that and cupped her face and kissed her passionately on the lips. Sydney was frustrated as hell that her hands were full, because she wanted desperately to pull him close.
Joey and Lance both flew down the stairs, elbowing each other in the process. Joey gave him one more shove and then stopped in his tracks when he saw JC and Sydney kissing in the middle of the kitchen. “Dude, don’t push,” Lance said annoyed and pushed him. Joey just cupped the back of his neck and pushed him to face JC and Sydney. His eyes widened. “Woah.”
Joey cleared his throat, thinking that it would stop them, but JC kept nibbling at her lips. Joey then cleared his throat again, but a lot louder. “AHEM!”
JC finally pulled away, but was still looking down at Sydney. “Yeah, what is it?” he asked while he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
  “Michele’s sick.”
  “I’m sick.”
JC looked at them weird. “One at a time fellas.”
“Uh, Michele isn’t feeling to well, and uh…so we’re gonna stay in,” Lance said and when JC raised a brow at him, he felt himself turn red. “Gotta go.”
“Yeah, uh…cough...cough…I don’t feel so hot either,” Joey said as he walked backwards and almost stumbled when he hit the stairs. “Well…cough…you kids have fun.”
JC chuckled. “Hope you feel better, Joey.”
He grinned. “Oh, I will…uh…I mean…yeah I hope so, too.”
JC shook his head hopelessly and then grinned down at Sydney. “Looks like it’s just you and me, kiddo.”
She grinned as she placed the carton and apple down on the counter so she could wrap her arms around his neck. “That’s fine with me.”
“And are we going to play sick, too?” he asked with a devilish grin as he wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her off the ground.
She laughed as he plopped her down on the counter. “You know,” she sighed as he positioned himself between her legs and nuzzled her neck. “My throat is feeling a bit tingly.”
“Really?” he mumbled as he traveled his lips up her neck and then nibbled her ear. “That’s too bad.”
“There is one thing that might make me feel better,” she said with a grin.
He leaned back to look at her. “And what’s that.”
She bit her lip, as her eyes grew excited. “Carry me up the stairs again, like Rhet? Might be a little work on your part though.”
He grinned as he pulled her in his arms and cradled her like a baby. “Frankly, my dear Scarlet, I don’t give a damn,” he said and then kissed her as he carried her up the stairs.
