HENRIETTA, NEW YORK— Many senior citizens have questioned quality nursing home care for several years. Policy makers scramble for positive healthcare benefits but nursing homes still seem understaffed and nerve-racking for family members. However, what if in twenty-five years standards were different. What if patients weren’t concerned with quality care but losing their minds to aliens? In Not Without Protest, author Vincent P. Rosella invents a fictional nursing home and mixes in a sixties-style radical movement to overthrow the administration.
Rosella, fifty-years-old and frightful of spending his golden years in a nursing home offers an interesting twist on healthcare concerns. Rosella harnesses his intellect of technical communications and his life experiences of the sixties to make Not Without Protest so colorful. Five years ago while envisioning his book about aging baby-boomers Rosella says, “I imagined them to be feisty activists”. And feisty they are.
The plot is centered in Upstate New York. Near to Rosella’s residence, at the fictional Saint Vincent’s Nursing home. The nursing home’s owner and evil Dr. Carl Bortz seek to mastermind a high-tech scheme involving mind-mapping and stealing information from the minds of selected patients. In conjunction with the FBI and CIA, aliens utilize the greedy flaws of humans in a 2026 society.
Not Without Protest provides unexpected surprises lurking the in the South Wing where character Anthony Marcella organizes the radical movement. Readers will love the humorist style of the mythical alien abductions and futuristic forte. Through the book, readers will seek to find answers to the questions:
What are the alien’s weaknesses? And who will survive the South Wing?
