Alliteration



 
 

Alliteration is a literary device where the author purposely uses a series of words with the same beginning sound.



 

The following alliterations were all written by Laura Ragland's second-grade class in Huntsville, Alabama.

Pooh put peanuts on a pencil.
Ten turtles tiptoe to Tennessee.
Worms wiggle with walruses.
Vivian has a violin that is violet.
Eyeglasses are extremely expensive.
Sam said to send six cents to school.
Ed eats eggs everyday.
Austin ate an apple in Alaska.
A green gorilla goes to Gabrielle's garage.
Nat and Ned are very naughty neighbors.
