How to meet Russian Women

1. Purchasing Addresses - This involves buying postal addresses of women.

This is usually a frustating and useless experience. The women often don't know that their addresses are being sold, and mail delivery is not like North America: VERY often mail is lost or never reaches its intended target. Combine these problems with the length of time it takes for 2-way correspondence to take place, and the ease with which you can be subjected to fraud (who do you hold responsible for your unreturned letters?), and you can see that this is largely only a money-making scheme for agencies who repeatedly sell bulk addresses to many people, and then sell these same addresses to other agencies.

2. Purchasing email - This involves purchasing email addresses of women, or more often paying for each email transaction which takes place.

By itself, this is usually an expensive lesson on how to lose money to scam artists. Without seeing the girl on the other end, many unscrupulous women or agencies will write fake emails to encourage your continued writing and thus their continued cash flow. Worse yet, once they begin to capture your heart, requests for money start to occur and the unwary can lose a lot of money. The only way this option has any merit is if free email service is used, and once/if the girl requests money, you cease communication.

Another difficulty here is that traveling to Russia to meet with just one lady is risky. It is a lot of time and money to spend for someone you will never truly know until after you have met. Finding multiple women this way is tricky, as invariably the women who interest you will not all live in the same region of Russia.

3.  Purchasing Group Tours -This involves going to Russia as part of a contingent of men who meet women in a large group setting, usually referred to as a social.

Once again, this option puts you in a precarious position subject to fraadulent intentions. At first this option seems attractive, but understand the mechanics behind what takes place. First, many men are combined in the same room at the same time to "compete" for the same women. Women may outnumber the men 3-1, it is true, but will this help when you haven't time to speak with the lady you like because others are speaking with her? It is a dynamic which promotes male aggressiveness, making it difficult to feel comfortable and to be yourself. To be honest, it also encourages men to lie as part of this "competitiion", making the procedure unfair to the women as well.

Second, and perhaps more importantly, is the quality of the women who arrive. Because such a large number are needed, most agencies simply place newspaper ads and any women are welcome to arrive. This means that they are unknown to the agency, and have no references at all. In Russia, this results in an opportunity for prostitutes and others to come to the social to try for the heart-and-purse-strings of wealthy men. It happens very often.

Of all the options, personal tours provide the least risk. It is important, however, that background checks are done on the women and the results are available to you. Without this, some agencies have many, many women but again you have no assurances of their character. As well, if you don't have the opportunity to communicate with the women prior to the tour, you will waste valuable time meeting women you could have easily screened out, or gotten closer to, earlier.

It is also important that you don't visit the Moscow and St. Petersburg regions, as these are atypical Russian cities, with high levels of unscrupulous people and little of the Russian tradition that makes Russian wives so desirable. The high levels of tourism also result in high pricing and take away from your learning of Russian culture, as other regions provide.
