THE NEW TULL HOME PAGE IS UP!!
See the new Album "J-Tull Dot Com here"
Yes, they were known for their hooliganism and shenanigans but eh.......if you could do 1/2 the things they did, wouldn't you?
(Come on!!! be honest!!)
Like all things in life, change is inevitable. No longer does the silly twit stand for hours on one leg voraciously bellowing air thru assorted "borrowed and unpaid for instruments." There's been mishaps resulting in injury and dissension amongst friends..but through it all, they have taken the stage and continued on like the professionals they are. While losing none of the appeal, they have managed to reiterate the themes and unique "Tullness" in their sound, without all the jumping around and gestulating. And their backgrounds and stage show and personnas are still snappy as ever! LOL I get as much enjoyment now, listening to the Solo efforts of Ian("what medical device is next?")Anderson , Martin("of the tight trouser")Barre, Andy("You like parrots right?")Giddings, Doane( "Don't play no tambourine")Perry, Dave("the Cocktail Cowboy")Pegg, (thanx for the Scullers jazz club outing :) Awesome LOL! ) Jon("The Vicar")Noyce, Maart("U-turn")Allcock, Glen(THE MOST AWESOME!) Cornick(thanks for the hug :) your very sweet ) ..and ALL the Chaps, as I do their Excellent collaborative efforts. *G* It's not only the band which has gotten older, LOL I seem to be undergoing this horrible transition into middle age *YIA!*
Here's the Front-man Himself THEN(1975) *sigh* And here he is on the Little Light Music Tour 92..Life is STILL good-OH YEAH!
Would you Kill for this gem to be yours? HA!!
This is my Favorite of ALL the pictures released of the band..when I picture them, this is the image that comes to mind.
Did you know Ian is a Laird? LOL Well, the blokes done well for himself... eh?.. and Shona-a saint if there was one LOL
Ian mentioned in the interview for the 25yrs collection. "The current Jethro Tull has the strange duty of trying to somehow acknowledge all these other line ups, and all these other various musical arrangements and styles. If I was to listen to the Ian Anderson from '68' or '69'..and try to be that guy, I mean...I can't really do it."
I think that pretty much sums up the difference between Then Tull and Now Tull eh?
Here's the current cast now.. Andy Giddings, Ian Anderson, Jon Noyce, Martin Barre, Doane Perry. Their most excellent album Roots to Branches has it all--get it for heavens sake!!
..as well as Ian Anderson's album Divinitieswith the excellent help of Andy Giddings,
Reminds me of A Classic Case-with 2 of "The Chaps". LOL Sixstring and I enjoy listening to Divinities at ALL times of the day...but most special, is dinner-when the candles are lit, and the wine poured...
