![]() Wicca is an earth-centred religion which focuses on the celebration of nature and its cycles. Specifically, it embraces magick as a tool for spiritual enlightenment and for life in general. Many people are Wiccans. You probably know one or more. I was surprised when I first embarked on the path to realize I knew several. What do you mean by Magick? The knowledge of magick has been passed down through the generations in writing and, in many cases, person to person. Magick is, in essence, the focusing of nature's forces to fulfil needs, both personal and societal. It is a common error to refer to magick as supernatural. It is, in fact, completely natural. People who practice magick often refer to themselves as witches, a term commonly used to describe Wiccans. Although not all wiccans are witches, it is often the case that the two go together. Do Wiccans believe in a God?Wicca, at least modern Wicca, does not conceive of Gods or Goddesses in the same way that many modern religions do. Rather than being separate from the Earth, Wiccans believe that deities are all around us, in everything. Many different names are used for the deities, but most Wiccans agree that there is a male and female component to the Divine. These are often referred to as the God and Goddess. What are the "Rules" Wiccans follow?Wicca is not a "book" religion, as most witches believe knowledge is attained through magick and meditation. There are some basic concepts that most Wiccans agree on, however.
