First-time
Descents Personnel
It was on
the morning of Friday February 22. 2002 the our group of
intrepids gathered, ready to journey to the far shore of our
fair isle in search of persons of like minded interests and
habits, that is the annual kayak Intervarsities. En route to
Gaillimh banter was exchanged, ideas formulated and general
bullsh*t proposed, all of which lead to, after a stealth
mission to procure some free whiskey from Kilbeggan
Distillery, the creation of what you seen now. And so it was
that on that faithful day, the founding members of FtD, Slapper John,
Juan Carlos and Grog
set forth to make public their ludicrous life-choices.
"Slapper"
 |
Typically provides the transport and camera, but likes to get in on the action as often as possible. |
"Grog"
 |
This man is
responsible for setting up the website, planning future descents and getting drunk afterwards. |
"Juan Carlos"
 |
"Juan Carlos",
is generally the first one down any tricky drops we encounter. He is the man behind our inaugural first descent on the drop beside the petrol station at kilmaccanogue. He earned the right to go first on any other descents by badly injuring himself on one daring descent. Our thinking is 'send the cripple first'. If it doesn't hurt him, the rest of us will be grand. |
"The Cowboy"
 |
"This lone ranger of sorts is slicker than a MUCK paddler covered in baby oil. He may be from texas be he ain't no steer, Cox by name but not by nature our very own routin toutin Dave. The Cowboy shall be making apearrances in our all new descent team and at a number of super markets and kids birthdays in the next few months. |
"Gramps Corkery"
 |
"Another blow-in who joined the group late, Stephen outdid himself in performing his spectacular bathwheel. |
"Pee Pee"
 |
Always willig to take part in our more daring descents, Paul was there for the Deer Park Descent which will shortly be available for your viewing pleasure. |
"Andre Cerasi"
 |
Gone off to foreign parts, Andre is currently trying to calculate the wind drag effects on a F1 Car if a roof-rack is installed. |
"The
Others"
"First-time
Descents" would like to also mention appreciably the
many other "Randy Gunters" who have and will be
involved in our missions over the months to come. Thanks
lads and may you not let rip in an enclosed environment...
And Last, and most definitley
not least, according to some people that is... question need
to really be asked about what these boys are into..... "Our
