An Open day was promoted for people to come to the school to see it for
themselves, and hear people in the know talk. Unfortunately access
was denied to the buildings, but for the over 200 people who turned up it
was worthwhile to get an idea of how big the school actually is. |
|

TOUR THE SCHOOL
Everyone took the opportunity to walk through the school grounds and
look through windows at the amazing facilities.
|

INSIDE
The only building open was the Gym, operated by MacKinnon's Gym,
(03)9482-2707.
Thanks to Mal MacKinnon for letting us into his gym, and Dean for
opening up for us. |

THE CHOIR
The North Fitzroy Primary School Choir and the Yinnais Community
choir provided some pertinent and rousing entertainment.
Thanks to Tim Arundal and the choir members for their valuable contribution
to the atmosphere of the day, and Chris Scott, Principal of North
Fitzroy Primary, for her support. |

THE TOWN CRYER
Finn Morgan wrote a special piece for the day. She did a splendid job
calling everyone to the cause. |

THE SPEECHES
Tracey Callander introduced the speakers.
Brian Sullivan, President of the school council when
the school was closed in 1992 spoke about that period and the
occupation.
David Brant, a local parent, spoke about the needs and
wishes of the local community. |

Barry Pullen, Chair
of the Review Panel spoke about the review Panel's role.
Richard Wynne, local MP, announced the Minister had
written to Barry Pullen saying she agreed 'in principle' to the opening
of the school on the site.
Tracey Callander thanked the speakers.
