Joy Service, and Heather Chard.

The Five Points South Garden and Beautification Committee formed in April of 2003 with three main objectives:

  • To plan social and educational events to residents with an interest in gardening
  • Encourage participation in a community garden
  • Influence the aesthetic quality of the neighborhood

By maintaining quality of environment, the committee hopes to improve property values and attract complementary new property owners.

Social and educational events are announced through the yahoo group e-mail, yahoo calender and the Neighborhood Association bulletin.

Currently, the committee has paired up with The Birmingham Urban Garden Society to form a neighborhood garden, including a small children's garden. Anyone interested in volunteering at the garden can contact Parrish Nored.
