The Flight Of the Kaw |

The gigantic creatures landed on a stone road on the north side of the island. Small shops faced towards them, and there was a blue, sparkling ocean behind them. An unusally large amount of birds soared in the sky. The sun glistened in their eyes and the glare was very bright as they walked towards the building. Yet before they could get there, Halenadia heard familiar voices. "Hala! Halenadia!! Over here!" Linka put a hand over her face as she turned to see who those people were. She saw two people, both with the defiant youthful look of Kaw, yet surprisingly different. "Aranatatata? Carisatatata?" "Halenatatata!" screamed Aranata as she gave Halenadia a big hug. Carisata smiled. Her hair was sort of frizzy, and she had a muscular but somewhat piggish build. She was adorned with silver jewelery of a thousand different kinds. Aranata was more laid back, as she had sort of a perpetual sleepy expression on her face, which could be percieved by some as ugliness. Often she was in a mood of perkiness, and she wore no jewelery, unlike Carisata. Linka and Wheeler looked at the reunion with a little awkwardness. Wheeler put his hand around Linka's waist as they watched them talk about old times for about five minutes. "How rude am I?" asked Halenadia to herself. The semi-cute 9-year-old then preceded to intruduce Linka and Wheeler to the Islanders. "Wheeler, Linka, this is the Carisat." "Call me Carisata, or Carisa-ta-tata." Wheeler smiled. Linka shook hands with Carisata. "And this, is the Aranatat..." Aranatata grinned and shook hands with Wheeler. Carisata was already halfway through the door to the little barber shop. "Piggot! Guess who's here!" "You stole our thunder!" pouted Halenadia. The voice of Mister Piggot reverbarated through the little salon. "It can't be... is it Kaw?" "Nope, but close!" "My little Halena-ta-tata?" "That's me!" yelled Halenadia as she ran through the door, holding Wheeler's hand, who was holding Linka's hand, who was connected in the same way to Aranat-ta-tata and Carisa-ta-tata. They ran in a chain through the door. "Hehe, look who we brought in!" giggled Aranata. Mr. Piggot hugged Halenadia. Carisa-ta-tata seated Wheeler in a big barber's chair facing a mirror. Aranat-ta-tata seated Linka, and pulled the ponytail band out of her hair. Mr. Piggot went to lunch with Halenadia and Aranata and Carisata spent hours experimenting with several different hairstyles. Two hours later... Linka's hair was up and in curls, which, when combined with her stately clothing, made her look like an Avian princess. Wheeler's hair basically stayed the same, because no amount of hairspray could budge it in one direction or another. Part 14 |
